Where are your comments on the fact Cineworld has also reduced costs in other areas ?
2021 is only one year of the businesses future.
This year has seen a global pandemic and massive losses as a result would be expected.
Next year is as yet not decided! Much will depend on the rate of return to opening (vaccine large impact on this), then the levels of attendance largely again covid reduction the key factor.
First half next year I agree unlikely to show profits (it doesn't need to, it only needs to reduce the bleed of cash).
Second half is too far into future and uncertain. It may or may not record profits.
It is now the years beyond that which are important.
Which years prior to this did the business record losses? i.e in " normal" trading times!?

As pointless as posting 18/19 comparisons or as you have done countless times 19/20 comparisons eh ;-)

Except in the financial year 2019 they REDUCED the level of debt by (I think from memory) some 200 million.
Bang goes your unable to keep up with debt theory ;-)

This can not be reasonably argued with, it is noted in the company's annual accounts.
By this exact same basis 2020 was scheduled for better films (more blockbusters).
These are now in the main scheduled for release in 2021 and 2022.
So by your own and the company's reasoning it is reasonable to foresee improved numbers for the later part of 2021 and 2022 :-)

Go on list the 5 years earnings and profits for 5 year period to y/e 2019 so we can all get at least some more context.
Everyone and their dog knows throwing out an isolated 2 year can be VERY misleading.
There can be any number of factors resulting in what at first glance can APPEAR a negative trend when it may well not be the case.
Go on 5 years revenues/attendances/profits before and after tax.
While this will not give full picture of business or will give a more accurate picture and anyone not trying to manipulate things would I am sure be happy to record a clearer more accurate picture.

Definitely played it shrewd so far.

Even if only here for quick buck again latest additional 1% holding is at near current price so they will want 70 + minimum of still using trading to either make money on trades or build a holding at ever lower average.

They continue to be in and out, wouldn't read into it.

The "new variants" has been covered for some months and widely agreed nothing to be too concerned about.

Two - Three years from now you are sitting on a 300% return on investment and receiving dividends of an effective rate ( based on your buy in price today) of c. 12 - 20% p.a.
You had the foresight to see a well manag d company in a strong position to move from second to first in their market after the number one player went to the wall.
You seem that a return to previous sp was entirely possible and maybe more.
You seen the companies past record of desire to pay decent dividends and that current limitations ( pandemic and then need to repay chunk of its debt) were not permanent factors.
The company has become so dominant in its field that multiple potential buyers are now strongly circling.

All of the above is just one of many possible futures and in no way should it be considered advice to buy.

HOWEVER regardless of what some may say, it IS one future possibility!!!

I see we appear to have one of those interesting days where the share price is held in a very tight range showing near flat for most of the day.
Break out towards end of day!?
In the coming days it is looking very possible we will again be facing down that key price point of 68p.
As was the case when we hit a high point of 73p intra day we need to not only reach 68p and above, but stay above it for more than few hours or days.
With Brexit pretty much committed to doing the pointless talk right upto last possible point now it looks like news on US stimulus and Oxford (and Moderna) vaccines will be the next influencing news.
These are currently looking like positive news.

There has been at least two major supply chain updates recently.
There has also been major news on key element to freeing up movement of people which directly effects Cineworld, the cinema industry and more widely movement of people and what they can do.

While this project is not Cineworld, it is part of the cinema industry and shows ongoing desire for the event that is a night at the movies :-)
