With the information we all had to hand it would have been crazy of any holders sold.
I guess the one section possibly caught out and essentially robbed were any with a trailing stop loss set. I would feel for them.

Union you are maybe forgetting the importance of the highest so in last 12 months regards offers.
There are more than enough large holders in the business at a level above e.g. £1 that 30p/50p or 60p/80p would do NOTHING.
AS I said I am not saying they are going to imminently bid for company.
However they may well see days like to day as opportunities to increase holding.
The one thing I would hope we can all agree on is they are not purchasing at any price with a view to lose on their investment.
Considering the relative position of Cineworld to many other businesses I would also suggest there are easier 5 or 10% return on investment options.
So no matter their intention we should reasonably expect they view the SP has a fair degree of upside potential.

Union Pacific In fairness regards Jangho you do realise ANY potential or successful takeover is not carried out at the share price at that time.
They NEVER were able to buy company at 30p, just as they wouldn't be able to buy at 60p now.
I am not saying they will bid, however it is just as possible (maybe more so) now than earlier this year.
They profited from their earlier investment so their more recent buy in effectively was not at current prices.

Well after that nice little Christmas gift to Jangho and or the Big Shorters I see we are back to more familiar levels already :-)

The 98% done deal I think was quoted as about 95% or more done a year ago so to me progress seems little if any.

There is always more at play than some MM otherwise why would ANY share price ever rise in price giving PI's profit, remain stable in the case of "solid" well established companies that pump out 4 - 7 % dividends year after year etc.

YES they can at times influence the market or a particular share, but it is NEVER forever nor often the only factor.

So there are two predictions from Ortex algorithms
1 SP fall of c.20% in the next circa month
2SP rose of c. 180% in that timeframe.

The simple question is surely:
Are any prepared to risk missing a 180% return for the possibility of a 20% return!?

Note one is seen as marginally more probable than the other.

Some of the percentage and end numbers are all over the place to be honest.
Without having spent anytime investing this Ortex thing I call nonsense on some of it.
At least without far more information.
A little knowledge can be very dangerous.
Taking your initial board advice though -
Holding xyz shares at an pence and holding through all the nonsense until well past entry point and after business up and running. :-)

If IDW or ShortestChild posted this we would mock them and keep hold of our shares as long-term holders.
I assume none of us see material change to company fundamentals so will still hold through any possible dips as we did previously.

Time will tell if algorithms on this one held any value.

UK government allowed some return to football matches in tier levels.
I don't think we will go from zero to 100% in one move, though nothing is guaranteed.
Cinema does not require a high average attendance.
However any restrictions will always make business more difficult than no restrictions.

IF vaccines roll out at pace wanted.
IF social distancing is relaxed some.
IF Cineworld is open in first quarter.
IF film slate stay as currently set.
IF consumer confidence sees higher return to cinema than other stages this year.
Then yes we should be looking at £1+ share price and start of stability and growth.
