All down to government here and US right now bonkers.
Timeline here in the UK is ok but tight if I was pushed to guess right now.
Cineworld have made it clear they want/need an opening no later than May for current financing to be happy to see them through 2021 and beyond.
I can't see us opening much before then here and it will most certainly be with social distancing.
The US market is where our focus really needs to be (75% of business) and I just don't have a handle on things there.
The other thing we need is movies!!
That was why Mooky took decision to reclose in Autumn before any lockdowns.
The picture may well be/should be a lot clearer in a month/2 months

West, Agree fully with zstarz on this one.
It certainly feels/sounds like international travel is going to be one of the last to recover.
When I initially targeted some recovery plays I had included Ryanair, Easyjet Rolls Royce and TUI (considered Carnival but left it). Have since moved all these into Cineworld.
Some of the value has been taken out of these since especially when add in the likely longer recovery period now.
I have been "lazy" last couple months so not identified any particular recovery plays, instead focused on this share.
Might have a look again in coming weeks.

I understand numbers very well.
The increase in fatalities is what was discussed at the briefing and 10 people becoming 13 is 30% increase.
That's what was said and is correct.
They did also briefly cover that as a percentage of those infected it is still a very small number, BUT that's not where the percentage talked about comes in.
You may still disagree with what I have said so let's agree to disagree of that's the case.

Think most indicators are leading us to a circa May opening with the bigger movies now starting to roll out from June and then a packed second half year.
So long as that's the case then not too bad I guess.
We wouldnt want it to be too much after then though.

Sorry latpulldown but I disagree and so does the UK briefing (and arithmetic).
It's the increase in the level of deaths that is 30% that wouldn't matter of it was previously 10 in 100 or 10 in 10m. It is same sample size and deaths going from 10 to 13 is the part to look at.
Hence 30% more death.

I think with this being a London listed stock and probably most of us from or based UK we can focus too much on what is happening here.
c. 75% of the business based in USA then clearly for operations that's what we need opened .
UK could remain closed for few extra months if we had US operations especially LA and NY up and running with reasonable attendance.

The one other crucial factor is studios commitment to film releases specifically the big ones.
Smaller movies and repeating old classics is all good and well but the business just can't make the money on them.
Blockbusters cinema is packed , occasionally for a true classic it will also be busy as a one night/two might affair, otherwise them and current small movies are VERY quiet.
At least that is experience in UK, again it may be a little different in U.S.

If 10 previously would die and you now would have 13 that is 30% increase though as they said still small percentage getting it would die.

The close price seems to also have adjusted from 66.1 to 66.65 (same as this buy)

Sammy I flagged similar up about a week ago with a large trade.
Not sure why it appears that way.

From NOFEAR excellent detective work finding the Jangho document there was 2,132,672 more shares noted as held by them than we know off by RNS.
Today's buy is 2,127,299 shares (5,373 different).
That document was 13 Jan I think and numbers do not match exactly so very possibly nothing, BUT we don't often see 2m buys and when we do it has recently tended to be Jangho.
Let's see next Wednesday/Thursday if we get a RNS .

A 2m plus trade gone through at 66.65.
Trying to remember the exact figure from last week which showed Jangho with slightly more shares than we currently know about.
Report from NOFEAR and I had spotted difference.
May go look back see if it ties with this trade today.

Yes there has been a good steady trend for couple months roughly now.
More stability and stronger support from below gradually building.
Cineworld and the world in general is still very much in a difficult position, but there are at least now shoots of hope/recovery/a future.

Only news of note this week is Bond delay that is off course short term bad news, but longer-term good as sticking with Cinematic release.
Papers spin negative on LTIP.
Yet we look like ending week roughly flat.
I consider that a pretty good week.

1p 2p is going to give you minimal extra shares/potential profit.
If you are comfortable investing at 1p different from here then not sure it's worth risk trying to get that last penny and couple £ profit/loss.
Your money your choices though.
