Thank f*CK someone finally agrees and sees this similar to myself.
The "noble cause" will leave probably more losers than ever a shorting company made.
Yes they will briefly "stick it to the man", but most or all large Hedge Funds will either come out unscathed or dust themselves down and recoup losses and more in their next few Investments.
Some have a go "hero's" will trouser large sums of money and thousands for every one of them will be burnt to varying degrees.
As you say in worst cases tragically. :-(
Happy to keep "investing" , no desire to screw over others for my gains.

However if you do as you say below then only way to "make" 50k in a week is to go against the movement and NOT hold your overinflated shares.
Instead you make a chunk of money on the back of hype and catching some mug getting in later than you did who at some point down the line is left without a pot to p*as in...
I see this potentially as far worse than short trading.

How does it "end"
So the small man now gets to the party later than those that got the movement going.
He pays 1000% or more over the top for shares which he then has to keep forever (so losing his money as can't use it)
Or he starts to break ranks and sells which starts spiral down and if he doesn't then many other do lose fortunes!?
We will hear about the few handfuls that are paper or actual millionaires overnight, but many multiples will lose their rent money to them instead of shorters.
The line seems very blurred to me if this is any "better" than the shorters.

At least you haven't put your house on it.
It goes amazing you make a decent few $.
It goes against you you are down not crazy amounts (well for most I guess a few hundred isn't life changing).

Difficult to say for certain.
Both MS and GS have as you can see by looking back RNS releases been up and down, down and up for MONTHS.
I interpret that as one of a few possibilities.
1. Loaning stock to shorts from time to time.
2. Day trading on peaks and dips.
3. Accumulating and selling on for buyer making cut on substantial volumes.
4. Shifting around actual and leveraged holdings to make on SP movements.

Not for me, I realise many see it different but for me I struggle to see a double , treble or more from c.$300 on GME. I can easily see a 50, 60, 70, 80%+ fall in few months though.
The pyramid scheme Reddit boys that got in before they hyped rest of their followers will make a pretty penny no doubt.
Who knows the future for sure though!?
Both GME and AMC are NOT currently trading on ANY sound fundamentals so for those happy with a gamble similar to or riskier than crypto currency then there may well still be an opportunity (briefly).

Regards Jangho they have had opportunity to buy more at prices lower than Friday.
They "appear" to be buying slow and steady in jist enough quantity to not materially alter price.
Often buying on dips after mini bouts of price inflation and then price is over what they paid by 5 - 10% by time we see RNS.
Wether they positioned to buy now or 6 months from now their bid price would (imho) not require to be that different.
Currently needs to be in £2+ area and would be similar later this year.
The amount of "free" float available for them or others to add will at some point become rather limited. c75% held by institutional investors already and many from pre pandemic values . SO I would imagine most/all in no rush to sell at these levels.
Then there will be a few % of small investors like us here firmly holding for SP double or more where we are.
Therefore I think quietly building to 30% will run out of legs IF they are not here as value investors.
So far they have made value investments, any more than that is yet to have evidence.

Profits/losses only matter when they are no longer theoretical on paper.

You think the GME business can sustain a share price of $300 or multiples of it for years ahead then LTHcine!?

I have no feelings on you leaving or otherwise, just repeating what you said quite vocally :-)

Not a practice I have any experience in, however morality of it aside.
If there was one single share tip just now as certain a play you could have I would say shorting GAME at current levels would be a banker.

Just one further point of clarification.
It is not "if" they hold at certain prices, it is something that can be checked when they opened various shorts so from that days SP range you can get reasonable idea.
If yourself or anyone else would like to check this (as I already did and informed board) you can pretty easily do so using the short tracker website.

Onlyone I am sure each one will be weighing relevant risk/reward they see.

Shorttracker website shows detail. Ok, I/we know to within last couple days as shows firms now below 0.5% with them falling below a day or two ago.
So in theory on last day/two they could have reduced further (less likely as SP has come down since 88p high). Plus as noted before from work I put into it most hold shorts from £1 + positions.
Exception being New Holland.

Onlyone they have indeed been reducing (a little).
Was for certain north of 10% couple weeks ago. We know it's still north of 8/9% currently.
How far north we don't know as it becomes hard to track under 0.5%
A few are playing that border makes it easy to go under the radar and if/when they chose can slip over it again by a 0.01% movement .
