Perry - I am a large holder here too, i have been for some time now and its not about believing the company will deliver, it is literally witnessing them deliver. Anyone with any funds invested here wants to know that their investment is as safe as possible and that all the apparent risks have been researched. There will always be risks associated with investing, in particular the mining and minerals industry (which also includes oil and gas).
So for me to build a relationship with the company i have my a chunk of my family's inheritance invested in, well perry, it is absolutely imperative that i get to know every nut and bolt so that i can judge as much as humanly possible what the ever changing risks may present along this shark infested journey.
I respect other investors and indeed i have gained some "real" friendships through the various whatsapp, twitter and facebook groups. I see the positives in the company and express / report the reasons why i and others invest. If i spot danger then i will swing away and investigate those dangers and if necessary take action, reduce my exposure or indeed sell.
I was an avid Sound holder and gained a great relationship with Sound management, however things changed for me and the risks, in my eyes increased to a degree that did not suit my personal risk profile, so i derisked and finally sold all my holding. I never once posted my full reasons because that would be disrespectful to other Sound holders and to their investment decisions. Much the same here, to date, all that HUM have said they were going to do they did. Until those fundamentals change for the worse i will continue to maintain a relationship with HUM management, promote the FACTS (oops) and convey all the elements i have learned and understood from phone calls, emails and other forms of communication.
I run my own architectural practice and it cost me my time to go to Mali and then put together a comprehensive 70 page report. This wasn't for any accolade at all but a report for the PI's from first hand perspective of another PI. It took around 30 hours to put it together which included trawling through hours of scribbles and notes and sketches and so on. All that for a few accolades.....i think not. All that to know and understand to the highest level possible just what i was invested in and as equally important for all the other "genuine" PI's, be it long, medium or short term holder.
So good luck Perry in your investment in HUM and whatever else you are invested in but don't knock the efforts of those who are, to some degree, helping you to understand more and more about what it is you are invested in. I personally have learned a lot on here from some excellent posters. All the negative spin i have read in the last 6 months has never once helped me, why? Because it is generally unsubstantiated views from antagonistic posters who clearly have either hidden agendas or are simply just here to wind up the g
