Thanks Matm74, I hadn't seen that. Scrap my comment about it possibly making the cut so, very unlikely.

To my knowledge the drugs which are the fastest into use, are repurposed drugs. I think the only current candidate for an antiviral drug which is also oral is Favipriavir. If they get sufficient data by August (question mark) then it could make the cut, perhaps.
I'm not convinced though that the Anti-Viral task force won't be another hot political mess, particularly after Cummings week of nuclear truth bombs and what we have learned out of that. I am trusting the BOD and RM to crack on with our current trials and get engage too much in this just yet. Our market remains global and although it would be great to be chosen to help UK Plc, it should not distract from our global aim.

MattRempit, sorry to hear that. I've never had Covid, I don't know what you're going through but I read about this earlier this week if it's of any use. I've nothing to do with Nuffield btw, I just seem to be a collector of random mostly useless information. Also another one I shared a while back was (2) a programme delivered in part by the National Opera? and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. It's had good feedback from participants and focuses specifically on the breathing aspect of long-Covid. You never know. I hope you find something that helps.

Oakleaf, I think Vorag's mention of Vectura bid by Carlyle today is noteworthy. The temperature of the market is rising. Companies like Synairgen are attractive. I'm not surprised (although I'd love to know who, why etc).

I want them to work their socks off backwards and deliver as they have always done, and not get side-tracked by the PR dog and pony show. I wasn't aware that Synairgen already had results from in vitro studies showing the antiviral activity of SNG001 against two SARS-CoV-2 variants. When was that done and what were the results?

IMO it adds greatly to the narrative of SNG001. You are right, we already 'knew' what we knew (but cold hard proof is what is required, not just pointers to that or data which may or may not be attributable to x, y, z. We now have in vitro evidence of :
- potent antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2 variants
- demonstrable broad-spectrum antiviral activity of host-targeted antiviral treatment delivered directly into the lungs.
Both 'in vitro' and 'in vivo' studies tell their own unique stories. I like to think of the news in this RNS as another layer of hard evidence. You are right, it is what we PI's would have expected and probably doesnt add a lot more to us, but to future investors, the media and everyone else, that is a big box ticked.

With all due respect, my personal comment aside (fair point), the article is not political content. It states the facts - data was culled from the PHE report - fact, lockdown was delayed - fact, lives were lost unecessarily - fact. Not my summation, but the view from the experts.

The truth matters. That's not a political statement.
