Wetdream, RM did day that breathlessness is easy to measure for GPs, that in fact it is less onerous than a test etc as it's a case of asking 1 or 2 key questions (not his words but the jist of what I remember). I cannot remember at which point in the webinar but if you watch it again you will pick it up.

I am and have been well prepared for the negative reaction today. I know there is an agenda and these news catalysts will bring an excess of manipulation on the BB. I see some are already going for the Achilles heels, no surprise there. Everyone needs to make up their own minds - all that matters for me is what does the data show and are we more or less likely to have good P3 and Activ-2 results. Reading the data, it's the former for me. Watch it when you get a chance.

Just watched the webinar belatedly. Lots to digest and cut through to sort the wheat from the chaff and get to the bones of what the data showed. These are my key takeaways:

-The data was very valuable in giving Synairgen a clear steer on WHO should be treated and at what point (RM "We are very, very happy with our signal, ratio was > 3 versus placebo in patients who are breathless"). So that's the POC ticked.
- Favourably, P3 was designed in such a way that it will benefit from the fact that it is designed to target those patients exactly.
- We learned (just like Regeneron and Eli Lilly in their data sets) that not everyone becomes very ill.
- Scale up is underway, inventory is being built up as the validation of manufacturing steps happens. Our aim is to produce 100K treatments pm.
- P3 was reported by RM as "progressing well". Read out timeline - still H2, so no surprise there. Synairgen will give updates 'later in the year'. So as expected.
- Long-Covid data estimated to be available in Summer 2021. No surprise there, as expected.

I took copious notes but the above are the key things I was looking for confidence on.

I will take time later to read through everyone's thoughts - I felt it best to formulate my own in the absence of BB noise and consider the messages that were being conveyed without distraction. I have not unpacked the format or delivery of the presentation as it is of zero consequence to my decision to remain firmly invested, data being king for me.

I see the big profit taking/ selling peaked around 11.30 and there is short interest here, no surprise. I have taken the opportunity to top up and may do so again if funds allow at a later stage, all things remaining the same.

Patents are an issue for every drug company on the planet.
And still, companies manage to do licence deals and takeovers.
And still, the ceiling doesn't drop just because there may or may not be a patent infringement in the future. The world doesn't stop spinning, lawyers just get richer. That's their job, ours is to fund the company's efforts, or not, as we choose.

The point is - do you really think Astra Zeneca would agree to such a million $ deal if they felt the drug was not going to be commercially lucrative, knowing the IFN landscape and patent history as it was then and is now? I don't think so.

No, it wasn't Scinv. Under the terms of the exclusive licence agreement, AstraZeneca paid Synairgen a $7.25 million up-front fee, and THEN a potential development, regulatory and commercial milestones of up to $225 million. In addition, AstraZeneca agreed to pay tiered royalties ranging from single-digit up to mid-teens on commercial sales. AstraZeneca also agreed to be responsible for future development costs.

Those are the facts.

The patent situation didn't stop Astra Zeneca handing over $7+ million to Synairgen to licence the drug back in 2014. They would have done their due diligence with patent lawyers, for sure. Why is this once again, an issue?

A Novel Drug or a New Molecular Entity (NME) is an active compound, complex, molecule that previously has not been approved by the FDA/EMA. Have any of the drugs you mentioned in your statement below been 'approved by the FDA' Scinv?

'We are aware' is a valid answer to shareholders. A company Director is not under obligation to inform shareholders on the 'day-to-day' running of the company. If Rm stated that he is aware then IMO it is most likely that the company are (a) aware of it and (b) actively managing it with whatever recourse is open to them, legal or otherwise. They don't have to tell us every step they are taking in that process whatever that process is. If you think about it, Amazon must have to deal with a lot of similar activity, and yet, they don't update their shareholders on every possible daily infringement...

In the context of Human Challenge trial (if that's what you mean as opposed to some random comment Van Tam made on a different subject?), why would he? ANY drug company can learn from the data coming out of such trials, they don't have to be participating. It's being run so scientists can learn what happens when people who have already contracted the coronavirus are infected for a second time.

As I said below, this is not company specific, its about a trial that can benefit all makers of vax/treatments in the Covid space.

This is not Synairgen specific/doesn't mention them, but it all helps in the fight and will the data will hopefully inform Synairgen, as much as any other company developing treatments.

Eurasianite, the Ridgeback/Merck deal is worth a google, although there are quite a few differences in their case and ours and I'm not drawing parallels there at all, but, I would say that it highlights the frenzy around possible Covid treatments and the kind of money involved. Congress and the Trump administration authorized more than $7 billion for research and industry subsidies in the hunt for vaccinations and therapeutics and my guess is we have a fair chance of doing very well *IF* all the chips fall in the right place. IMO, this is a unique, highly competitive pandemic market for therapeautics proven to work, unlike those of years gone by where the global demand may just not have been as frantic. That places us in an extraordinary position. Sorry, I can't hope to put a figure on that, but I sense any deal will either be exceptional, or there will be none at all.
