I doubt it. The kinds of funds that are invested are old hands at awaiting clinical trial results for that catalyst news event. I'm sure they all know that Q2 covers 3 months. In the real world, outside of Covid pandemic, phase 3 trials can take anything from 1 to 4 years. to put that in context, when RM says we are doing this at speed, he actually means it.

Agree Doc, it's a stunningly beautiful country, I vistited it once many years ago. I agree with Rum, I think there is a strong case for that. Moreover I imagine some candidates will be dropped off the Activ-2 trial in SA if they prove to have low strain-agnostic credentials, as I just can't see the American gov. forking out millions(?) every day to continue global trials if future treatments are not robust enough to meet the ever-changing challenge of variants. Good point. On that note, I hope we succeed!

gggg21, thanks for the Activ-2 international updates. Do we (or anyone know) where those international sites are likely to be, or is it a case of just checking for updates when they are published?

Doc, I think a driver for covering SA now in the trial is because there was a lot of vaccine hesitancy after the AstraZeneca vaccine rollout b*lls up in SA in early in 2021. Confidence was hit hard among the population, and then the government scrambled to get J&J vaccine instead. The 2nd SA wave came close to overwhelming the local healthcare systems and killed many tens of thousands of people. Scientists say a third wave as the southern hemisphere winter arrives in May is likely, and that the vaccination of as many people as possible before then is urgent. So IMO, the Activ-2 trial plus whatever other pharmas are trialling in SA right now (there are a few to my knowledge) have called this timing correctly. If an already delayed SA vaccine rollout does not complete quickly enough with J&J, the 3rd wave potentially starts in May, not December. It is potentially weeks away.

Matterhorn, you are entirely correct that the cumulative case numbers are misleading and I was just about to follow up but you pipped me to the post - the actual trend for April in SA is showing an increasing trend, which may be why it was targetted for Activ2? In early April there were some 700+ cases, and by this week there are some 1200+ cases. The trend is upward which is the key point. Small as it may be now, it could surge just as India and countless others have that were once deemed lower risk. To say there is 'virtually no covid' in SA I would counter, is misleading.

As of April 25, 2021, the amount of positive coronavirus (COVID-19) tests grew by 1,101 in South Africa, reaching 1,575,471 cases in total. As of the same date, Gauteng was the most affected region with 421,880 confirmed cases, whereas KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape counted 336,297 and 286,109 positive tested coronavirus cases, respectively. *

Given these very recent numbers , i.e. as at yesterday, SA looks to be a good choice for CV trials right now.

Scinv, I suggest this strongly disproves your theory that Synairgen can't produce enough of the trial drug.

They could not widen their trial if they could not commit adequate drug to it.
Thankfully we can now put that question to bed, at last.

I try not to succumb to an urge to attribute blame to other people. I have done my own thorough research and I am happy with the risk/return profile this opportunity investing in Synairgen presents, not bothering to give credence to the fretful and non-evidence based thoughts of others. Q2 means April, May and June - for the absence of any doubt here as some posters seem to find that a somewhat difficult straw to grasp. Quite how a Quarter can be magically condensed into a Month is anyone's guess.

I also sense some desperate negativity pervading the postings of the usual cabal of faux investors this morning. This is the tale of their own struggles - and if they look within themselves, they will find the positive solution they are looking for.

Does anyone here have access to the finer details regarding volume of shares sold off since Polar's last TR1? I'd like to know sells versus buys for that period. Anyone know where I'd find that info?
