I read it when it was initially posted yesterday eve and got the jist of it. My immediate reaction, whilst 'well that's positive' was the use of the words 'incredibly promising'. I cannot, under any circumstance understand why a person in his *particular position* would open themselves up to charges of complete bias (which this is, singling out a drug in a trial) and unethical behaviour (again, communicating their personal views on a particular drug that is within a trial). I do not know what the context of the Chris Butler email was - was it a response to a question, was it a chat amongst professionals, or are we to believe that it was an email to an investor here, in which case (the latter) I would say that is incredibly unethical and unbelievable. My point is that although this sounds positive, there are 2 agendas at work with this share. I would be a lot more comfortable with the Chris Butler email if more context were provided....hoping someone can update with that in the coming days. GLA.

2 things stood out that bode very well for Synairgen, (the usual caveat of good data at next read out obviously applies):

(1) Continued demand
"Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc (REGN.O) reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit on Thursday and said it expects demand for its COVID-19 antibody therapy to hold up even as vaccination efforts across the United States intensify. Despite high rates of vaccination, it's estimated that tens of millions will remain unvaccinated in the U.S. alone," Regeneron Chief Executive Officer Leonard Schleifer said."

(2) Ease of administration - we tick this box.
" Lilly's antibody therapies and Regeneron's REGEN-COV have been authorized in the U.S. for treating non-hospitalized COVID-19 patients, and the companies have signed supply agreements with the U.S. government worth millions. Demand for these therapies, however, has been lackluster due to the complexities involved in their administration."

“Public Health England are clearly very concerned about the rapid spread of this variant – as they should be,” she said. “But telling the public about a public health emergency should not need to wait for a specific release day or local elections – this should have been communicated earlier, not least to protect communities where the clusters are.”

“What is happening in reality is completely opposite to the stuff that I am seeing from [the PHE documents], which suggests there is cause for actual alarm,” she said. A spokesperson for PHE said it would not comment on leaked data.

Clearly this government have learned absolutely nothing.

Just to provide a little reassurance, Synairgen was a smaller company with no "Commercial Lead" back in 2014. That didn't stop them striking a +$7 million deal with AZ. I find this reassuring and I hope you do too.

I think a lot of this comes down to perception. Some will perceive something to be positive while others only see the negative. Never the twain shall meet. And that's OK, people have their differing views. Unfortunately it's a waiting game. Nothing remotely market-sensitive, which many people have touched on today in various threads, will make it's way to market before time. It really is patience and watching from here on in.

MrCosts, the most obvious answer is usually the most overlooked. I don't buy the current SP activity as PI driven, far from it. Look at the timings look at the volumes. Look at where our II friends bread and butter come from. Forgive the analogy but I have a keen eye for chess strategy. Not all II's are knights in shining armour. Every II has a strategy, but their chess styles are often very different. Some make money waiting for the news or event catalyst to yield results. Others take control of the (chess) board early and force an end game. Time to do your research on who is invested here and why. You may find the answers you seek. I could be wrong. Then again....

The SP is being walked down by an II who, strategicially, has a couple of million shares to spare. An II would benefit from a 'distressed' SP. Timing and volumes match up. Is Polly Gone yet?

TLWilliams, Mike109, Welshfalcon, I couldn't agree more. The CEO is not obliged to update the shareholders on the 'day to day' running of the company. We've just had a data read out, the data was positive. I'm sure AZ or any competitor or any 'interested party' would love to know all the inner workings of Synairgen, manufacturing, patents, the lot, which is why communicating through official RNSs are the best thing for the company, and thus ultimately the (genuine) shareholders. Doc, what I think you are missing in your analysis is the fact that Activ-3 (for example) is fully funded and scheduled to run until July 2022. That is a long way out from your prediction that "Covid will be completely under control in the UK and Europe (and probably the US) by then (July 20th 2021) and the declared aim at the start of all this, will have failed."

If the US governments top scientists have taken such a long-term view - into 2022 (and more to the point, they have not amended that), then I think it is safe to assume that they know more than us and are correct. They simply would not continue to test and trial at colossal daily expens, if they figured the end was near. There is no evidence o make such a statement. But the absolutely key thing to remember that what sets us apart from most if not all other Cvid therapeutic candidates, is the 'virus-agnostic' element. Potentialy, SNG001 could be proved to treat any new coronavirus. And we know they are coming. The scientists are agreed on that. It is my belief that IF (and that's firmly an 'if' as yet) Activ-2/3 produce good data in the 2021 -> July 2022 trial period, then our fate will be sealed. SNG001 will most definitely be a highly lucrative treatment stockpiling drug. The global market still needs such a future-proof virus-agnostic drug treatment. That has not changed. I would not underestimate potential future value. No such drug exists right now. As of today we are still in the game.

Thanks Joey - that aligns with what I posted. The trial was closed early to re-focus on Covid-19.
