I didn’t realise the company had been forced into such a crappy deal. Is it the case that the (small) August equity raise was done despite the existence of the CB program so that the company didn’t have raise more money on the CB’s terms.

We know what the finance deal is - the only question is over some marginal risk to completion

Wasa if an MM buys a chunk below the bid he won't usually mark them down immediately, he'll try to sell some at the (then) current mkt level, especially before it marks and the other MMs see it. Once the other MMs see it everyone knows there is stock about so they will tend to mark their prices down.

It's not really hopium though is it? There is a valuable asset in the ground. Most of the finance to dig it out of the ground has been approved. The current share price is a fraction of the NPV of the assets. It would take something really odd to derail this.
Hopium would be where you don't know how a share is going to make you money - we know the exact route to HZM becoming a very profitable company.
