FH, its been discussed and reference before on this chat that 3 of the 4 "contracts" (not sure what to call them) specifically mentioned UK court jurisdiction, the 4th did not.

Oldblue, Interesting, perhaps you could explain a bit further. I don't recall hearing this before, maybe passed me by. I seem to recall that the Moz courts stated that the UK court had no jurisdiction or influence on the Moz decision. Couldn't this omission of fact have been the basis of a PFP appeal, or if the Moz court have subsequently been made aware of the omission wouldn't they want to know why they were perhaps misled, and take action ?

Clear indication of any agreement is release of funds from escrow. Therefore RNS today is positive in the sense that it confirms the court situation but it doesn't quite light the blue touch paper. Interesting time for Our Col' to present at a Forum. He's one of 4 speakers so no doubt that attendance will have been agreed to a few days ago, possibly with the expectation of new news by this time. If there's new details for the presentation I'd expect this to be preceded by an RNS. So if no RNS prior to the presentation I'd expect just reiteration and clarification of previously issued details.

Tend to agree Ezhik. Can't see the benefit of an RNS that isn't based on definitive interpretation of the core samples.

Much of what is in today's RNS was known, especially if you watched the Utah geologist's video and have read (properly) previous updates etc. etc. So why issue a RNS ? A couple of reasons perhaps, amongst others. Although our Col' didn't say there would 100% be an update today there emerged an expectation. Also a functional update bringing in publicly available details about the drill under the Zephyr heading and making a statement with regards to the new administration would not be a bad thing. So line drawn in the sand and our Col' and his mates very much on the ball and in control. My only slight fear is silence until March, as a poster stated earlier better to have too many rather than too few updates

Careful BM you don’t want to raise the ire of the forum with all that negative realism or pragmatism. ;). Decent RNS that confirms much of what was already evident from interviews, the Utah geologists etc. Keeps the pot simmering without blowing the top off, looking forward to further core log evaluation which hopefully will accelerate current preparations for a commercially viable drill.

I would have thought that whoever emerges with the license will move to reset the clock to year one with 25 to go.

I wouldn't be too worried if there is no news tomorrow about the core sample analysis as the wording used was more of a possibility than a definite. Regardless core sample result will be out soon and hopefully positive regarding oil and gas. USA time zones kinda' works against 7am RNS for work being completed in the States, possibly later in the day although anytime tomorrow would be great. All still positive though.

Perhaps this has been seen before but on a re-read after some time the validity of the English courts jurisdiction to the case seems quite compelling. 3 of the 4 agreements apparently stated English court jurisdiction. Maybe too much time has passed and an agreed settlement is best for PI's, it may be this lingering threat that keeps all parties at the table.

". I recall, apologies for being vague, some surprise at the time that the English Court jurisdiction was clear in 3 (expressly) of the four 4 but absent (impliedly ?) in the 4th. Whether this was a mistake or an oversight it appears possibly to be the chink in the armour that was exploited in pinching the license and allowing the Mozambique courts to assume some jurisdiction. I'm not legally trained but perhaps this " ... expressly or impliedly .... " will be the root of much debate in the BIT.
Previously I've questioned why the licence holder has not started to develop the site, 10 years of the license have now passed.
