I was chatting with my mum today and she was telling me she remembered everything that happened on D-Day and gave me a run down of the day! What made me think was for so many years she couldn’t talk about it - her parents never knew where she was or what she did at that time and she never really discussed it with them bec they had died before she felt able to. She said today she regretted that - made me think a bit. She was a de-coder at Bletchley and there’s not many of them left (Hope you don’t mind me posting but she is the biggest Sirius fan even with dilution)!

No one knows what’s round the corner Sharewizz - whatever age you are you have to take each day as it comes - I’m very sad to say I’ve lost friends in every decade of my life so far. I’m sure every 70 year old on here and older has got much more to their life than Sirius but it’s been a long journey for some and there’s nothing to say they won’t be here for the next 20 years to enjoy dividends and if not then perhaps they might want others close to them to enjoy rewards if they come

I’ve had enough of cats - mine recently disappeared for five weeks and was found in a neighbours shed just in time! Think that’s why I typed cat instead of car!! Yes the diesel thing was really annoying especially after we were encouraged to buy it a few years ago!! (Sorry I’m off topic again)!

I’m with you DGR1980 - I have now managed to achieve the amount of shares I’m really happy with. There is a bit of nagging feeling in the current climate that I should be trying to substantially lower my average - but to do that I would have to either risk the amount of shares I have or put a lot more money into Sirius. Sadly for me I’ve put enough in and I’m not risking any shares. But we could have bought our house at a lower price, bought our holidays cheaper, just sold our cat at a loss bec of new diesel charges driving into central London etc etc. I’m assuming everyone here knows what could happen but life’s a risk - you just do your best in what you think is right. Good luck to anyone who’s bought in at these prices - they are really lucky but middle long term holders who have higher averages I think will be lucky enough in the long term as well - we wouldn’t still be holding if we still didn’t believe in the company - even with dilution

I guess it depends on how many excess shares each broker was allocated and that would depend on how many investors each broker had holding SXX shares. eg HL obviously have many Sirius investors so therefore had more shares not taken up in the entitlement and therefore more to distribute to each investor in the excess part. I’m with Charles Stanley Direct who always said it was over subscribed and were very clear that each of their investors got up to 19.8756% of their holding not necessarily of their request. They were spot on as far as telling me what excess shares I had and the money was back in my account last night

Just be great if we could get good news on this one morning when no one’s expecting it!

Thank you! I’m trying to remember who that poster was who used to post something along the lines of - ‘no sireeeeee I wouldn’t want to be out of this tonight!’ - despite knowing I could pick up shares tomorrow a fair bit cheaper than my average I do still feel a bit like that!!

Oh well at least I’m in good company! Phew!

As it’s Bank Holiday Monday can I ask a question that’s prob stupid? If $500 million dollar bonds are taken before Oct - say by Aug - can it be announced early therefore meaning we can all relax more a couple of months early? Or is it strictly Oct timeframe?

Qatari sovereign wealth fund reveals stake in UK’s Sirius Minerals Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund has emerged as a shareholder in Sirius Minerals, the London-listed company building a giant fertiliser mine under a national park in North Yorkshire. The Qatar Investment Authority owns 3.3 per cent of Sirius, according to a regulatory filing. Traders said the QIA had probably picked up its stake when the company issued $425m worth of new shares last month. Sirius is trying to raise a total of $3.8bn so it can complete development of its Woodsmith mine and start mining a huge underground deposit of polyhalite, a type of fertiliser.  It has also already banked $830m through the share sale and a $405m offering of convertible bonds. The company needs to raise a further $500m through a high-yield bond so it can tap a $2.5bn credit facility by provided by JPMorgan. I didn’t realise the scale back was based on 19.8756% of your holding - I thought it was based on how many you applied for - I was wondering why I hadn’t got more! Anyway I’ve just rounded up to a number I like! I’ve decided if these stupid low price predictions happen i’ll just buy a few more- trouble is jonesrichard I think you have to buy a lot to lower your average significantly
