Dumb question, but if MSAR wasn't going to go commercial in the Marine sector, why the hell are Maersk still spending so much time and having so many discussions about the Royalty Agreement? It seems to have been going on for quite some time now, they officially terminated the MSAR trial almost 15 months ago.

Suggestion to Maersk management - instead of wasting so much time on us, perhaps you should concentrate more on your shipping business, which doesn't appear to be fairing too well at the moment, given your recent share price movements and the very large short position which was recently opened.

It can't be too long until Maersk reveals its hand and goes public with its real 2020 plan. This "Scrubbers are bad, we don't like scrubbers" has been a load of old tosh. Say one thing publicly while doing the exact opposite.

Ignore the advertised spread, it's worthless. If you do dummy buys and sells the real spread is much tighter, it was about 3.3-3.5 late yesterday afternoon. You certainly won't be paying 4.1, unless you want to buy a few million shares in one go.

It's all a smokescreen, they've been using scrubbers on some of their vessels for about the last 18 months. They've just not been telling anyone about it.

As vanguard of the shipping industry, publicly slate scrubbers continuously and strongly suggest low sulphur MGO is the only solution to IMO 2020, while doing the exact opposite behind closed doors. Then at a much later date tell everyone you've changed your mind, by which time all of the competitors who follow your lead will be buggered, because all of the dry docks for scrubber refits will be fully booked for years ahead. Not even Baldrick could conceive a plan that cunning.

Very reassuring to know that Cepsa still remain supportive, even hosting more refinery visits from new prospective clients. Not dead in the water by a long shot, could see a bit of a recovery in the share price too.

MSAR is already proven in W�rtsil� 4-stroke diesel engines, so could be used by cruise companies with scrubbers straight away, no further LONO testing required.

I can't see a signing coming by tomorrow. I do think that there is a fair bit of brinkmanship going on here though, instigated by the refinery, which has been backed up by the company. It's a very dangerous game to play in our situation, after Maersk the Saudis are our closest and biggest potential customer, maybe even our only one. Plan A didn't work out, if Plan B also falls through then what is Plan C going to be? We don't have a lot of cash left, it could be seen as a slightly suicidal strategy. But it might be what is needed to get things finalized at last. Fingers crossed anyway. The Saudis stand to lose a lot more than we do by not adopting MSAR in their fuel mix for national power generation.

5 - Have any signatures been signed in Saudi Arabia, or is it just between QFI and Akzo, QFI and the refinery (which probably isn't in Saudi) ?

I'm not as cheap as you, I wouldn't accept any less than 30p. With the money that MSAR can save the KSA, even at 40p it would be like buying a brand new Ferrari for 3 grand.

If someone came in with an offer now of 40p a share, most people would bite their hand off, probably even the BoD, they're probably as sick of all this as we are. Who knows, maybe that is the Saudi's plan.

Nice to see it back above $70 again, not the most important thing in QFI's business model, but it's better there than back at $40 again. Bad news for Maersk though. They've had quite a lot of that recently :-)

Tend to agree Toby, if cash burn is �300k a month, adding an extra �2k won't dent the finances too much, it's not even 1%. It is a permanent place though and they want them ASAP. If the outlook wasn't looking rosy they could just as easily have taken on some agency staff on a short term contract. That is getting to be the norm with the gig economy these days.

It could be that they are walking the price down to a price for a placing, the last placing came on the same day as the Final Results RNS 18 months ago, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if they did the same for the Half-year Report which is due before the end of the month.
