Whoever inherits the Brexit job21 Jul 2019 17:05
Needs to present ‘no deal’ as a real possibility with real conviction - else there’s no hope of a good deal.
Parliament doesn’t want to leave. So there’s a disconnect between them and the electorate and as result no conviction whatever. Absurd voting policies driven by party politics. Worst defeat for decades followed by successful defence of no confidence. Bizarre.
A second referendum serves no purpose unless there is a sea change in voters position. There is no effective opposition (There’s no effective government) and labour haven’t a clue what their policy would be.
People’s vote - is just remoaners second shot - and what does everyone think will happen when/if that goes ‘Leave’ for the second time!!
British politics then fragments into Tory euro sceptics and Brexit Party + some labour ‘Leavers’ versus a clutch of remainer parties. Not much in it allegedly.
Then we’re back to negotiating again. No deal is our best (only?) weapon. Doesn’t mean we have to pull the trigger though.
But we’re shagged if we promise not to!!
Who wins a duel with one guy holding a gun and the other throwing his on the ground. Doh!!
And don’t we import more than we export? Blah blah.
Boring.
And we still can’t find a leadership contestant that understands what a racist looks like.
Nice day though.
What’s the shipping forecast in Hormuz. Largely sunny with a threat of serious consequences. Joke.
