With the virus running amok, I just thought I'd post these from yesterdays year end document.

· Cash generated from operations of £19.1 million (2018: £15.7 million);

· Adjusted** net debt of £2.0 million as at 31 December 2019 (31 December 2018: £0.9 million net cash);

o Statutory net debt of £0.3 million at 31 December 2019 (31 December 2018: £0.7 million net cash);

· Cash balances of £14.1 million as at 31 December 2019 (31 December 2018: £15.7 million).



Strategic Highlights

· Moorfield Nanotechnology acquired on 3 December 2019 for a consideration of £2.3 million plus excess cash.



Outlook and COVID-19

· The Group commenced 2020 in a strong financial position with a solid order book, both of which remain robust.

· The impact of COVID-19 is being closely monitored with all necessary precautions being taken across Group businesses.

· Pandemic will affect scientific conventions and our ability to travel safely to our customers and therefore impact order intake, sales and installations.

· Effect on current year trading performance will be limited if the outbreak only lasts a further two months and will have a progressively growing and more significant impact thereafter.

· It is currently expected that the impact on the Group will only be temporary and, that with its robust financial position, the Group's ability to conduct its business model will remain intact.

Thoughts ...
My thought is they have £14Million cash in the bank which should help for the next few months, I'm happy to hold in the current market, I'll be topping up as well methinks.

If there were to be a last minute bidder this is probably the share it would happen to, its a steal at this price.

As an occasional poster and as its game over it just wanted to wish everyone good luck in the future, as a LTH I've taken a big hit so its made me wary, but I've used it as an expensive lesson and i wont make that mistake again. I started investing as a bit of a newbie as I suspect a lot of people on this BB did, now I'm much more careful about where I invest. I'll be taking my proceeds of the 5.5p buy out and investing it elsewhere, it will probably take me 5 years to get back what I lost.

To a couple of the old SXX board members may i wish you ongoing bad Karma

I've just come to this share myself via a moneyweek article, I was a bit wary of the shareprice as well, but checkout the latest investor presentation @28 minutes, the guy explains the share price.
Based on what I've seen so far I've just bought my first tranche. I think I'll be holding these for a long while.

I notice you chose to highlight the "bankrupt" part of my post as opposed to the "counter bid" part of my post.
While you know your stuff you always come down on the side of, it'll be sold, it'll be bankrupt, PI's will loose their money unless they bail out now ...

I know you have an agenda, just trying to figure out what you get from it, unless you get paid direct by the post by AAL :-)

On the good side I've heeded some of your advice, and my other holdings are much more balanced and starting to do weil, so have to thank you for that.

There very well may be, however we are probably not going to find out until things are moving at which point if you are not holding you are snookered as you will not be getting back in easily.

I'm holding my last until the end.
worst case I think, the shares are sold for me so I get my money back.
best case I still hold while there is a counter bid and the shares go up.

Bucky, I know you will say worst case SXX goes bankrupt and I get nothing, however I don't think it will come to that as II are grabbing shares for some .... unknown ..... reason.

Jon the club, it took a £66K hit on this, still don't know if I did the right thing bailing out, I'm still holding £5K to see how it all pans out, I could buy back in, or not ... but I'll kick myself even more if there is a better offer.
In a round about way I work for the FCA so don't hold any hopes of them guys helping out, that wont be happening.

Yes, but it highlight the fact that its "easy" if tunnelling can be such a thing. Other interested parties would find this useful I would think, another potential suitor in the wings would help the current SP I feel, help me cut some losses anyhow.

Just as a matter of interest, though I'm mostly out of this share I still hold enough to keep me interested. Does anyone know the progress of the tunnel .... to my knowledge there has been nothing issued for months. Based on how the management have been treating the shareholders I can see the deal going through, and a "by the way". The tunnel is about 50% complete as we've been tunnelling through really soft redcar mudstone, if that sort of information was available it could interest others and not give Anglo a free ride in. Sooooo.

Does anyone know how the tunnel is progressing ... and how far in it is .... ??
