Think you will find it was Israel who bombed Beirut again against the terms of the ceasefire which kicked off the current round of missile strikes. Nethanyu doesnt want / can' have peace..... He will go to jail soon as the war stops and he gets indicted for corruption, hence he will keep bombing till Trump makes him stop

I had a share (Artemis Resources) which was dual listed on both UK and oz stock exchange AIM/ASX, which delisted from the UK and is now only listed on the ASX.

Just checking my statement (I share deal with Charles Stanley direct ) and I can see a new overseas tax column for charges for future dividends etc

so I was wondering what would happen if GGP delisted from the AIM and was only listed on ASX.

We would need to pay OZ tax …?

From what I can see

Australian Non-Resident Tax Rates 2024-25

Income Thresholds Tax Rate Tax Payable

0 – $135,000

30%

30c for each $1

$135,001 – $190,000

37%

$40,500 plus 37c for each $1 over $135,000

$190,001 and over

45%

$60,850 plus 45c for each $1 over $190,000

For arguments sake if I sold £1000 of shares GGP and was a normal rate taxpayer (20%) what would I get in the bank ?

Given that oz tax rates seem to be 30% 37% and 45 %

Best case

Sell £1000 shares.

- Tax 20% + 30% = 50% = £500 in the bank.

Worst case

Sell £1000

-Tax 20% + 45% = 65% = £350 in the bank.

Seems a little harsh to me.

Like some on this board I have most of my money tied up in GGP seems a bit of a worry that half of it could go in tax when you need it.

Does anyone know the answer … ?

Looking at this i had to search for the original question so here it is :-

The question I’m posing to shareholders is this.

It’ll be interesting to know just how shareholders here decide on when is the right time to sell ? Is it,

A. When the SP reaches what you think is fair value.

B. When your holding amounts to life changing amounts of money.

C. When Havieron comes on stream, hoping to at least double the SP from where we find it today.

D. Hold onto your shares for dear life hoping you can provide fantastic futures for your kids & grandchildren.

My take on it is I'm holding until

A) the gold price hits $10,000 per ounce, which i think it will do sooner rather than later, once it does that I will sell 50% of my holdings, and then again another 50% if it goes to 11K, 12K, 13K etc, hopefully that way i get to bail out at the top.

B) when the shareprice hits £35 per share I'll sell 50%

In the meantime I'm 65 just taken early redundancy, have enough cash till feb of next year, adn will just top slice bits out of my isa till i get my pension fully setup a year come february, when i get my Old age pension, and i'll add to it with GGP holdings.

Anyone know how best to avoid Rachael Reeves as she will seem to want a lot of dosh, ive only ever added to my pension pot and never yet taken any.

I use charles stanley direct, Ive never had any issues with them so i would recommend them.

However I'm posting this to see if anyone has any thoughts on them, I'm not sure how there charges compare to other brokers.

If like me you didnt know how the silver market works and how and why the crash happened then watch this. Even though I'm down 70K over the last couple of days I'm happy to keep holding - this video explained why the crash happened, and thats impacted the gold price.

I use charles stanley direct had it for a few years, they are good, not sure how the charges compare elsewhere though, guess they are all similar ...

I don't post much, but had to welcome you back Bamps. I'm sure it was a post of yours that got me started on GGP after I crashed out of SXX a couple of years back. Since coming on here I've made a life changing amount of money for my family. China will loose billions due to the venezula thing.

Now in my rambling mind taking a long term view i think this may happen, and the more "Trumpy Trump becomes" the more it will happen.

China may want to hit back they may do it via the gold price, and create a gold backed currency (this has been spoken of here before) and use that to devalue the US$ over time. In theory other countries that have a gripe with america could use it, this in turn will put pressure on the dollar decreasing its value as a world reserve currency, and stop them building up the military as they wont be able to afford it.

China takes a long term view so it could happen. Which if it does has to be good for the gold price.

I'm sure someone can post about a gold backed chinese currency with more authority then myself but i think its all good for gold ....
