Because the fracture perms >10D were every you drill to tap into meshwork there will be interference, this is not pigeon pie.

‘Forked Well Pattern’
Been thinking more about forks! (Need to get a life - I know) but starting to make great sense. In FBs main oil volume in big fractures therefore if 300 million BO plus connected to one horizontal well then makes sense to connect to that meshwork of fractures with more than one well => fork pattern achieves that plus ‘fork’ nature means wells have increasing distance from each other tooo. With hindsight makes perfect sense. Where md was coming from, in conventional reservoirs oil recovery improvements come from sweep improvements, ie need to spread wells out in optimal locations, which as Lancaster is showing due to massive permeability in the main fractures and where the main oil is, is counter intuitive. HE chief RE can now write a paper on that too! Boosting his status even more, well done him! Horses for courses wins again... yes - going back to golf course till I get stuck in a bunker again and more mad thoughts appear.

..very true and means just three wells on WC could easily fill a new boat with 40,000 BOPD capacity, very commercial. Fork pattern holding up very well too on Lancaster which was md concern - horses for courses. LC2 probably most likely design too. Having build section outside FB great decision too - May have led to WD failure being 50m deep to plan.
