If any of the doom about covid was true, then shut pubs, schools, eateries, Parliament drinking rooms, malls, restrict numbers in shops to 1 person per 28sq meter, close unis, close parks, cease all public transport or have a PCR or flow test before using London Underground or public transport of any kind, lock it all down!
The only way to safely stop the spread of covid is to cull the population, there is no alternative. People spread covid, get rid of people, no more covid, simple.

big_blue, exactly as you say, they are looking to change habits, after 2 years (more than enough time) people do change habits. My wife is in marketing, strategy and consumer insights business, she told me a long time ago (pre-panicdemic) that it takes very little to tweak consumer habits and create new ones, without much effort, as long as you tell the consumer that it has benefits that impact them.

Look how that has worked out for all these governments in consumer driven countries, now look how this same panicdemic has affected India, Somalia, Laos, and any other coutnry where the citizens have no access to marketing.

I think if you are in this for the long term, you should just switch off and tune out all the white noise coming from weak pathetic governments (the UK especially) as they never want this to end, but it will. The SP will go down and eventually rise up. The stress that these moronic governments do peddling their fear-mongering and panic is beyond a joke. It just shows us their true colours ans where their paymasters are.
I heard on the news today that governments are being 'pressured' to add more restrictions, I'm thinking who pressured them? Us the people? no that is not true.. oh, wait, big corp is their daddy, so they listen to corporations, not the people, how silly of me, I forgot!

It always has, also when the US market dips, EU markets dip, when the US market rises, the EU markets don't do much and so on and on, EU markets keep dropping at the same pace as the US markets but never rebound the same way. So interlinked it's almost pointless having different markets.

I think most people with a functioning brain now see this for what it is, severe flu. You are not alone in your thinking, we must move on from this. It has taken way too long, impacted far too many people that covid never really touched, yet the stress and tension it has caused has damaged the fabric of society that may or may not repair.

SA are testing more, so cases rise, there is nothing new or phenomenal about this.

Referring to natural immunity, one of my kids is in a class of 21, all under 10 y/o. Some signed up to voluntary testing, this week we had 5 test positive, they had to stay at home, the rest came to school as normal, just wore masks if they felt like it.
The 5 positive had zero symptoms, except for one that said she had a headache, I suspect that was due to atmospheric pressure change suddenly as we had a dumping of snow.
My point is most of us are walking around with covid anyway, just no ill effects or issues, our bodies are dealing with it and those that have problems, well they would have had problems with the 'normal' flu anyway.

Pokerchips, none of it makes sense any more. Willing to bet that big pharma were doing their own external testing in the community to see what was out there, makes sense that they would, they cannot just rely on state health authorities to do the job. Also willing to bet that if they knew, they wanted it to spread, increase revenues and all that.
