These people are nothing like me, they have a different culture, speak a different language and pray to a different 'god'.
Why should I have more empathy for these people but less for those being slaughtered in Syria?

Let me suggest you have no sympathy for Ukrainians, only fear of Putin.

So, looking at this it seems he has won. We sanctioned Russia, he does not care, we in the rest of the world are paying higher prices, almost immediately, yet Russia was sanctioned?
Millions of Ukrainian refugees now filter through to Europe, we have to house them and feed them (not their fault) and most probably will never return to Ukraine. We will have to pay to rebuild Ukraine.
Billions in military aid, gone.
But we cannot afford to take refugees, on the back of a two year covid stagnation, a global recession on the horizon.
But we must take these refugees,they are in a war, like Syria.

Because as the media outlets like to tell us; "They are like us, they are blonde, blue-eyed civilised civilians, not from some third world country"... Not my words!
But Syria had both actors in on it, Russia and the US/UK, but managed to destroy that country.

So, still think we are beating Russia? For a patch or dirt that most people cannot find on a map and if you have heard of it, it's because of Chernobyl.

I saw Zelensky is starting to bleat and blame everyone as if they are not doing enough. I think he is deflecting and trying to convince the Ukrainian people that it is NATO's fault that he has to hand over to Putin.

My point is that you expect Israel to help ease the situation, I expected them to step in from day one as Ukraine has a large Jewish population, but they didn't. you want to know why? Because Ukraine has Jews, NOT Israelis. Israel only cares about Israelis, not the Jewish people as a whole. Ask that Rabbi speaking out against Israel in New York.
So, sending Israel in to negotiate is like sending in thief to negotiate with a bank robber, laughable.
They have an ulterior motive that will come out soon enough.
