RE: Europe's Afghanistan?5 Mar 2022 08:46
I would like to say that if this 'war' in Ukraine is making you feel uneasy, fearful, even dread at the thought that you could be next or worse, die... good.
Good? yes, hold that feeling the next time 'we' invade a far off land and try to liberate them. Like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya etc.
Because those people lived through that, they suffered much worse, they had their children slaughtered by 'us', the 'good guys'. But we barely acknowledge it from our daily lives, we just stare at the TV and sign, "that's a shame" and carry on with our uninterrupted lives.
Too late to say, "that should never have happened", but I never recalled the drive to supply weapons to those fighting back, I never saw people leaving their warm homes to go to those countries to help out and any that did, are now facing prison sentences or stripped of their citizenships.
So, am I worried? Sure. Am I angry, sure, because what did I do to deserve this?
Now think about the 400k+ civilians that lost their lives to US/EU forces in Iraq, the 50k+ that died from the spill over into ****stan, the 100k's that died in Afghanistan and are still dying by selling kidneys to just survive as Biden took $3.5 billion of the Afghani peoples money to pay for the 9/11 victims families. Yet not a single terrorist in that little adventure was Afghani.
So, I remain worried, just like I did when we and the US invaded those countries that had brown skinned citizens, because before they were not like us, but now, they are.
