The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Is not part of the valuation problem the fact we are still on AIM when we don't need to be? Many investors / funds wont touch AIM , many AIM companies are not as well run as SQZ as i'm sure many of us know to our cost!
The growth funds , tracker funds, income funds plus others would certainly help with the valuation level.
Agreed its truly bizarre , you can only assume they've found something of enormous value otherwise this is insane. In fact even of they have its still mad. You sure its Cornerstone and not Treadstone involved in this ? we could do with Jason Bourne to sort this lot out !!
Plenty to look forward to but the biggest driver of the share price in the short term must be the result of ''BP fielding final offers '' for its assets we saw on 17 march . Must get a decision soon and given the previuos deal , the 5% shareholding, many ex staff etc etc, you would have thought SQZ are in a strong position ? Fingers crossed !!

Great news ! I hope at least they get Shearwater , BP are operator so presumably SQZ takes over which fits their criteria . Furthermore ,Shell were looking to sell their half as well so SQZ would be well placed to get it .
Fingers crossed

Personally I hope its an acquisition producing assets , Shearwater and Andrew would be ideal , plus a move to main market . Where would the SP be on that ? Some way above a T/O price I would say !!
I can see given the large holdings how a T/O may suit them giving them a clean easy profitable exit , however I hope its the former.

Next deal and a move to the main market will transform the SP . Funds will then buy it they love a dividend paying growth stock , tracker funds will have to buy it, and other investors who avoid AIM will buy it . I certainly wouldnt be out of it and its my biggest holding.

From what I've read its between 100-120 K per day , I think Shell owns 1 so most production is BP's who are the operator , Wishful thinking maybe but given BP's recent statements about early switch to green energy etc and they do own 5% of SQP , who knows?
The wait is a bit frustrating along with the markets refusal to value them properly, shame we aren't on the main market , maybe that would help. However , I remember a similar situation pre BKR deal with the shares fixed in the low 20's even though the market knew they were thrashing out a deal with someone only to see them rise 5/6 fold after confirmed. Lets hope they are talking to BP , ETAP would send them into orbit !!

Just thrown in my £20 , thanks to all the usual suspects for keeping this board alive with your detective work!!

This mini dump started at about 9am when news came out that the St Fergus terminal was closed till Friday (it takes production from Bruce) . Late in the day they turned it into a tree shake by the look of it. Gas price not helping but we know all the positives , I just think the markets disappointed that Premier pinched what many thought was our deal. BOD must have their reasons and im sure they are considering other targets but in the meantime the quicker we can move the main market the better. Many fund managers will want dividend paying growth companies but they cannot invest on AIM.
So until we move to the main market or get a deal we will continue to get our SP jerked about with IMO.
Frustrating times but no choice but to be patient.

Switchedon1 , do you also know Queen Victoria died? Also Billy Bond left West Ham.
How could Hope have been removed as a director without it though?
