Flegg did say they were trying to extend the life of some wells till 2035 and if successful would expand the project to more wells. However, this and NE should be a side issue , the elephant in the room will always be the 0.6 billion (and rising ) and what they do with it .

Totally agree DD !, and big tech who have been allowed to ignore UK tax for many years.

Looks a reasonably clean purchase of some good producing assets , no debt, tax losses etc , wont make that much of a hole in SQZ cash pile come year end . interesting...

I suppose its a nice share to short as you know you wont get caught out with a sudden bit of M+A or share BB or anything else to support the price!

This is a general market malaise not a reflection of SQZ prospects and could turn very rapidly, they can keep their 4.25 bid let alone sub £4 . The game hasn't changed here , (IMV) EIGG, £600 mio in cash to invest followed by a move to the main market . If not the T/O price a lot higher than 4.25.

IMO until the BOD utilise the cash pile we wont see true value . I was almost hoping for SBB even though I don't particularly like them ,at least that would have been something. Seems to me a move to the main market would achieve the same share support and wouldnt cost 50-100 mio! The fact they didnt and again emphasised need to conserve cash for M+A must I assume point to them actively looking? We wont find out till the RNS drops either way .

Likewise Muckle!! H1 results , Special Divi, Eigg results , a big deal or take over , both?..... It would be rude to miss it .

Been here a long while, must be about 10 years ? The thing that keeps me focused now is 1/2 £billion in cash and rising (could even borrow a few hundred million if required )and the prospect of a knockout deal . I dont think the high prices are a barrier to a deal either , the industry know these prices wont stay forever , could do an earnout if over a certain level for a specified time etc etc... Can only imagine where price will be following a deal and a move to the main market , not forgetting NE ! Holding till the fat lady sings , (i think she's still making her way to the stage).

Dont get why some are angry we didn't buy Kist ? We didn't need them in the first place (IMV) its the production we want not an expensive and messy take over ,and there's plenty on offer , BP, Shell, farm outs from CHAR,PMG among others . If the BOD dont get going now they must realise their days are numbered . Other predators will be watching for sure , at least they know they wont get it too cheap and if NE is successful I would hope the next T/O offer starts with a 6 not a 5 !

NewKOTB, did you ever get a response from the poster that claimed NE was a nailed on cert ? I remember you were trying to contact him? He claimed BP knew there was good gas there .

Although we are way undervalued as are others, I feel the BOD have the tools at their disposal to change that very quickly. Namely using the £450+ mio and moving to the main market . Regardless of the benefits of AIM ,I dont see SHELL or BP desperate to join ?
I would have thought the BOD are working towards a deal somewhere , surely? I realise this may be victory for hope over experience but if they don't they are going to be history very quickly.

Most would agree that the BOD need to get busy with £450 million at their disposal and that their inaction has resulted in a low ball speculative bid. However I for one have no interest in 382p a share paid for from my own money so Kist shareholders can have a field day.
A successful NE drill should start the ball rolling and leave us a lot happier .
