Alphabet Inc.... Wishful thinking...
An 'Australian Technology Company' was just mentioned on BBC radio 2's Jeremy Vine Show, by the RAC Road Saftey spokesperson who is in talks to trial a Camera based Technology solution to people using phones behind the wheel.. from an Australian Company who provides a camera to 'monitor car occupants'.... Hmmm... who could that be?
I'm just posting cause I felt like it...
Not that it's much consolation but perspective tells us that SmartEye/Tobii and and all the competative/similar companies have seen the same down trends and on similar trajectories. This is not just a SEE issue.
Had a cheeky wee top-up today, thought we could be SEEing the bottom, although looking like it might still drop a bit further unfortunately. Allot of people will be watching their holdings sink these last few days, it's been tough, the bull market is well and truly over (wish I had the nerve to trade these). Smart money will be buying soon enough though, once the markets have corrected. But it's quite scary out there atm, who foresaw and invested in toilet roll and hand sanitizer companies?
The 7th International Conference on Driver Distraction and Inattention will be held in Lyon, France, on October 12-14, 2020.
Some interesting names getting together:

Johan Engström, Waymo, USA
Michael Lenne, Seeing Machines, Australia

Interesting read, highlights exactly why we need to have Eye-Tracking in simulators and air craft. If only there was a company that supplies eye-tracking equipment to FFS manufacturers.. hmmm

I would have thought Km traveled is not the definitive measurement of installs (although the best we currently have). All it means is that less km have been traveled.. Correlation does not imply causation smokey. Weather, less demand for freight, Gremlins... could be anything.
A 2005 flashback: How far have we come?
Volvo aims to introduce driver monitoring technology into its vehicles in the coming years. In September 2002, the Company entered into a licensing agreement with Volvo Technology on behalf of the Volvo Group, a recognised world leader in vehicle safety. This agreement provides Volvo with a licence to use Seeing Machines driver monitoring technology in relation to the manufacture and
distribution of Volvo trucks, buses and construction equipment, along with certain first rights of introduction. The Volvo Group is one of the leading manufacturers of heavy trucks in the world with total deliveries of over 193,000 vehicles across its Volvo, Renault and Mack divisions in 2004.

Another flashback, (how long have I been in this share!?!)

"Risk is a part of God's game, alike for men and nations." (Warren Buffett). Buffetology, I agree, quotes out of context can be deceptive and simplistic and may not apply to all. I know from experience never to underestimate risk, anyone that ignores risk is unfortunately misguided. I would never insinuate there isn't huge risk here, dolloped with some concern and sprinkled with a good helping of doubt. All absolutely necessary, expected and frankly understandable. - "It is madness to risk losing what you need in pursuing what you simply desire." (Warren Buffett).
Buffet also suggests that "If you are not willing to own a stock for 10 years, do not even think about owning it for 10 minutes.", some of us are getting close to that.. The Risk/Reward pay off here is (imvho) too big for me to ignore. It's entirely speculative, it's a 'gut' feeling, it's a whole load of research, its also slightly terrifying as I do feel overexposed at times...
"Never invest in any idea you can't illustrate with a crayon."
(Peter Lynch). So I've written this in crayon on my wall. ;-)
"FOVIO Chip solution... now represents the highest performing, smallest and lowest cost, driver monitoring solution on the market." Seeing machines
“I will tell you how to become rich. Close the doors. Be fearful when others are greedy. Be greedy when others are fearful.”
"Much success can be attributed to inactivity. Most investors cannot resist the temptation to constantly buy and sell.”
“Unless you can watch your stock holding decline by 50% without becoming panic stricken, you should not be in the stock market.”
“Games are won by players who focus on the playing field – not by those whose eyes are glued to the scoreboard.”
And from Phillip Fisher:
“The stock market is filled with individuals who know the price of everything, but the value of nothing.”
Anyway, lunch break over back to work for me...
Wouldn't it be nice to issue just 3 million additional shares to raise $2.3 billion..! Maybe they could spend some of that on fitting a robust DMS. I might give Elon a call.
CFP do you even hold shares here?
I ask because you said "..... they double diluted YOU last year." (Your words) - any share holder here would have used the words US or ME... (not you). Just wondering :) Although yes that did hurt US, the actual share holders, it wasn't unexpected (granted a bit on the low side) but still necessary to get us closer to breakeven. Hopefully only another year (maybe 2) away..
Just to add to that, 'new investors' and tech funds are also very unlikely to go around disparaging the company on public msg boards, they have an 'invested interest' in it after all. They are more likely to be Pro-active, they will promote the company and all its benefits to a wider audience. They will support it, advise it, nurture it and help it grow to it's full potential... why else invest, unless to succeed and make lots of money in process?
No One, no Fund in their right mind invests their hard earned in a company with the hopes of its failure (unless your the wolf of wallsteet, a shorter or a frustrated Pi).. Personally, I question my investment choices (as we all rightly should), but I'm not a trader and as such I Want them to succeed.. I still think/hope SEE have every chance and I would hope any 'new investors' would also. Time will tell..
"I would have thought that looking for 'new investors' is a standard move, to get shares out of volatile PIs hands (who can't seem to keep their fingers off the sell button) and into sticky tech funds, who will hold them until such time as we see true value. Reducing the amount of share available to trade, should result in price rises.. but what do I know."

Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn posts to boot.. I think I've gone deaf because of the lack of RNS's, news and updates. Some companies your lucky if you get 1 every couple of months. Ok I understand they don't all contain Numbers/Monetary values and the Stuff we HOPE to see and build our expectations on. But the info is all there, base your investment ambitions on that.. When news drops (which is a hope not a definitive) then it's a bonus... its been less that 2 weeks since trading update, give them a chance.
"Empty vessels make the most amount of noise"
Leidos’s Military and Veterans Solutions Business Unit has an opening for a Sleep and Fatigue Research Assistant. Part of the job is to maintain the Eye Tracking Equipment.. its in California, so don't know if they talk much to their Australian friends.. would love to know what 'equipment' they are using... what tried and tested equipment do we know of that can accurately measure fatigue in pilots?
