Of course funding is needed, it always is, I suspect funding will come as a result of the science.

On the nautical theme - it is more than a year since big Al walked the plank and CC took the helm. She picked a new crew. The science has gone from strength to strength.

The new board will not want to repeat the mistakes of the past, nobody would. The issue of funding must have been fully considered and is unlikely, in my view, to be another cobbled together, leaky mess. Of course that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill going into overdrive and the usual suspects coming out of the woodwork.

My hope and expectation is that the science will look after the fundraising. A very interesting week coming up.

Whilst waiting for news I’ve just had another quick listen to Spotlight Series 8, regarding AVA6103.

It explains how AI has been used to identify suitable patients. Also points out that exatecan has higher permeability than deruxtecan and enters cells more readily and is therefore good with regard to bystander effect. The relatively short half life of exatecan of circa 9 hours can now be extended via precision to give longer exposure and drive tumour responses.

I think the standout, at least to me, was the long term regression of tumours long after treatment had ended. I believe that also noted with AVA 6000.

Hydrogen cars v diesel. I get it. I have to say it is hard to get out of the house without tripping over a whole line of hydrogen cars. They’re everywhere.

We fully embrace the very latest ideas in our house. Threw away all the pens and paper years ago. Why bother with those Ordnance Survey walking maps when we have mobile phones? Why do people still build those aeroplanes when we all know within a year or two we can be transported anywhere within seconds? Got rid of our wooden furniture some time ago - we’re all plastic now.

A bold new future awaits us.

There are certainly a lot of hoops to jump through! I suppose the big difference with Avacta is that we are dealing with a very well known and established drug and utilising a new delivery of that drug.

Much better communication would be one example.

The Spotlight series has been a brilliant way to illustrate what the company is doing and showcasing key individuals, for those who care to watch.

I don’t know of any other company which has made so much effort to keep people in the loop on such a regular basis.

Although the April RNS told us to expect data by the end of 2025 I assume any interested parties, with access to the data room, will be seeing ever increasing data through the Summer months? It may help to focus minds if considering a deal of some sort!

We have always been told our trial is designed to be data rich. The Tempus collaboration may yet prove to be a master stroke..
