RE: Billionaire Patrick Drahi wants to buy more BT stock16 Nov 2021 13:54
"they "may" feel a quicker return is possible within T-Mobile US than hanging onto that % within BT ..."
It's possible, but even with DT's holding, Drahi would still only own around 25%. I suspect there's some other player(s) lurking in the shadows.
There's been nothing hinted anywhere about Comcast, and it's purely speculative on my part, but I can't shake a feeling that something might happen between Sky, BT, and Comcast. The reason I can't shake the feeling, is possibly because I see BT and Sky as a perfect fit. Sky has been really quiet and avoiding speculative comments, BT selling the Sport business, etc, all reinforce my view; There are obstacles like the size of Sky's broadband business, combined with BT's broadband business, but Sky have just contractually separated their broadband & TV services, and the broadband business could now easily be spun off, or even sold. All the speculation about Sky and VMO2 engaging in an FFTP venture, is far less likely than a tie up between BT and Sky in my opinion.
