Are you stI'll looking to "top up" at "bargain" prices? Blimey get a grip or you'll end up sleeping under a railway bridge covered in cardboArd. This is more destined to go bust than Dolly Parton. Sell up and chuck what you have into Boo.
Iris? ...Idris!... Darn spellchecker!
Up..down..up..down! What is it now Supergroup? Iris. ..can you tell sky to stick their adverts unless they let you wear a Superdry Hood in the next campaign? Euan...steady on there matey! Nothing shows you're behind a brand like buying 10 shares! That's less than I spent on your blinking coat! I can see this easily North of £16 but when is anybodies guess. Yet again becoming another great buying opportunity but a bit boring for us long termers.
Oh well despite solid performance of late and dividends declared we drift down yet again. Waiting for the break through £16 but no reason for it to happen today. Turbulent market over the last week. Let's have some blue days red is so yesterday! Lol Is it me or am I seeing Superdry everywhere over this summer? The weather over this quarter must have been great for business??
That's owning SGP for you! Who knows...maybe Andrea selling 4.5k shares but doubt it. UK Retail doing OK and SGP drops...that's just the way it is! lol
Be nice to have a discount card for long term holders though. Let's have the shareholders buying the clothes! Lol
Pretty much what was expected. Nice that there's a special divi, better that when lots are getting stuffed SGP are still growing nicely. Trial stores opening in China in summer could be the game changer?
Something is very "up" with this share. It did drop like a stone to around the same level for a couple of hours last week then bounced straight back up?? A few years ago SGP would drop to the same sort of extent and bounce back over the next couple of sessions, back then it was a great trade and one of the reasons i got in here but with all this hassle getting through £15 i am wondering if it's worth the hassle with so many other buying opportunities arising? No doubt it's due to the fact that they are fairly heavily into Europe but i wonder if that takes account of the fact that the major drivers for expansion going forward are China, India, North America which are little to do with Europe and now that we are soon to be able to negotiate our own trade deals with these areas perhaps this could be a longer term blessing in disguise?
Ending today over 1450 would be excellent but this really should be over 1500 based on those results.
Let's see what tomorrow brings. GLA
Whoops!
Seems a fair drop on no news. If something comes to light in the next 48 hours I will assume that someone has a mate on the board. It usually drops before trading announcements but as I said this seems a bit too early for that and too sharp in one session. This could prove a good entry point but it really should be somewhere north of £15 currently.
My thoughts exactly! Seems a bit early to be dropping in prior to a poor may update and didn't Standard Life just up their stake a fraction? Who knows. Long term it's likely to be a buying opportunity but if we don't start moving North soon I am simply going to get bored.
There goes Kipper with his broken "post message" button again. You need bi focals to read his posts!
We can all easily say if only. It's easy to come up with a trsding plan, sticking to it is the difficult bit. Can't grumble i have two holdings one @£5 and the other @£8. I'd need 5 hands to count the number of times I've been tempted to jump outthen back in here and who knows next time we see £15+ i may do it. BUT there's always a reason this moves north of £15 and we all assume that back up north of £17 is on the cards which stops us selling. Stuffed if you do, stuffed if you don't i find!
It's been sliding the last few days but then so has the wider market. This is nothing to do with the management team who are running the business not Dunkerton's love life. Now perhaps we are seeing why he has backed out, maybe it was an effort to save his marriage? Maybe it was to do the exact opposite? We don't know and don't have to in my opinion UNTIL his personal life affects work which knocking 10% off the value of a billion pound company does in my book. I am not against Dunkerton selling 4m shares but the almost desperate way in which it appeared to be done was an issue to me. I don't know the facts but if he had aired his laundry slightly more maybe it would not have caused such a ripple? He owes his shareholders some loyalty too we are a big part of what he is. A shame that on such a good Friday SGP missed out on ending the day at £14+ instead of staggering back to £13. Us long termers who are in as far as we want to be have missed out on what day traders and newbies were handed on a plate. Be nice to be handed something for my loyalty instead of being encouraged to day trade my favourite holding?? The 6p Divi was welcomed but much muted when followed almost immediately with a slap in the face. I will be staying in as the fundimentals have not changed one jot, unless we find out he's a bigamist!
So is this Euan just picking up some pocket money or does he think it was a silly move that's caused him to start lining up other avenues. I am soooo annoyed that after making a sound investment in a sensibly run company the actions of one individual that are NOTHING to do with business have caused such a ripple. Design clothes Make them Sell them Make money That's what i thought i signed up to?? I don't know Julian but certainly didn't sign up for his ex wife getting involved in my finances.
Stupid boy! Where was my invite to take up shares @ £12??? Dunkerton keep it in your trousers or at least stop thinking with it. The fact ghat this comes out of the blue, wipes 10% off the company and costs me 12 grand is rediculous. For the sort of money this has cost us shareholders it would have been cheaper to build a granny annex and shove her in there. With the market in the state it's in no wonder there's an over reaction. You'd better realise this is just business, i and others are only loyal to a point, better value and lower risk are appearing over any new horizon stupid moves like this build!! If you announce you're sha&&ing a super model anytime soon I'm out.
I'm not jumping even though tempted by Lloyds. Anyone else puckering up...and i don't mean for a kiss? lol
You should follow the sale items which are very specific as day by day the availability of sizes decreases. Why end it before it's done the job of moving excess stocreaction or strategy? It's a poor management team that can't react when the strategy hits a glitch such as bad weather. I bought some Superdry goods myself and was very impressed with all aspects except the parcel tracking which could have been more precise. That said the packaging was excellent, the clothes very impressed including shoes which were actually worth full price so to get them at 50% off pleased me a lot feeling like a real bargain. I have a considerable holding here so am biased but have to say it was a good experience. I am notorious for being very hard to please. As a hyper critical buyer at home and in business SGP have easily outshone most companies that i have had dealings with of late, service elsewhere being worse than rubbish. I have one question for anyone on this or other boards who feel SGP are less than a very good bet. "Have you actually purchased through the site" i don't mean a belt, order some of the product, try the service and check the quality. I would safely assume that those who question or knock SGP probably don't buy Superdry. If UK lfl sales are down does it really matter? Look at any map and compare the rest of Europe, USA & China with the UK then ask yourself honestly which markets you would rather be looking to gain traction in. If USA takes 5-10 years that's not the end of the world. It would be a fool who thought the USA could be anything liked cracked in less than that time frame. Over the last few weeks Superdry have achived something very important with this 50 year old. They have drawn me in with a sale and impressed me sufficiently to have me checking other ranges at full price. The only problem is that this brand is not for 50 year olds. Having said that i don't have to wear it to invest in it but now that i am wearing it i can say "it feels good". You rarely see fat people wearing superdy that's a plus as is he fact that the general perception on the street is of a trendy brand. I do wish they had something to offer us 50 year olds but am savvy enough to admit that my trendy days are largely over. Perhaps "NDY" (Not Dead Yet) could work as a brand concept? lol I am not jumping ship although at current levels Lloyds is becoming more attractive by the day!
