Problem with that article is it's in the express, so it's either old news dramatised to meet their project fear agenda or as with every other link on the page it's simply made up for click bait. Meant to add a store update, Llandudno, was there just before 9 so can't comment on footfall. Clothing appeared to all be there including a range of sizes. Foodhall, no excess of individual items and not many yellow labels, only gaps were tea and cereal but there were still options, wine also looked light. Otherwise looked like business as usual. £840m profit for the year.

My 'hope' is the attack costs will be offset by the increase in profits this year over last, if more is needed the first discretionary payments to hit is divi. Last year 2p, would expected an increase but now, depends on what's said about costs / losses, suspend until interims? All guess work without facts.

Thanks for the reply 1ontheup, sorry but you can't have it both ways by stating it has nothing to do with profits and revenues but then say it's dropping due to market speculation of revenues and profits dropping. The mcap is the sum of the whole, lock, stock and two smoking barrels, it's assets, liabilities, current situation, expectations and plenty more, if anything changes so will the mcap.

What I was getting at was, of those many variables the only thing that changed in the last few weeks was the impact of the attack, although we can only guess at the actual cost it won̈t justify the impact on mcap / longer term prospects. We were perhaps slightly overbought but the reality of the drop is nothing to do with fundamentals or cyber costs but simply the market knowing people were likely to sell and responded accordingly.

Let's hope for a speedy recovery, its the time of year we've got divi to speculate about.

the stock tumbled another 4.7 per cent – meaning the high street retailer has shed over 12 per cent of its value or £1.05billion since the hack at easter.

that left m&s with a market capitalisation of £7.4billion last night.

the latest slump in the share price came as analysts at deutsche bank estimated the crisis is costing it £15million in lost profits a week – with a total hit of £30million so far.

which odd as a simple calculation shows we make £15m profit a week in total and we haven't lost it all, online represents 30% so £5m, will we have lost all of that, perhaps combined withnwider stocking issues. did read somewhere that lost sales usually exceed the it costs. *** packet, worst case we're making no profit and it costs equal that, £30m per week....for a one off cost surely we've got plenty of weeks before we can justify a reduction in mcap by £1bln.

Followed your lead Couerdelion at 375 giving me an average of 388 and making me realise I'm no longer a LTH who could sit comfortably with a 180 average, different perspective from here, it no longer profit to be taken but capital to be lost. £4 by the end of next week, boom, boom, boom, fill ya boots, here comes the moon 😂

My hope, come post results, are that they were as good as expected, do worry about forward looking comments, don't mention NI rates. Cyber issue resolved. What's will the SP do through to Christmas, we become used to continued growth, will that continue? Where is long term fair value or will we not know that until transformation is complete? I would like to see in result a time line for that and expected cost. Equally short to long plans for divi, when will normal return?

Putting the cyber incident aside for a moment, through the first part of the year my expectation for the SP would have been to be roughly where we are with a steady climb to result towards £4. It's easy to attribute the recent drop to 'the incident' but how much could be a reflection that we were over bought? I guess I'm looking at the, we'll fly, option, with a happy RNS where will we recover too ahead of results? Just curious to others considerations, passing time perhaps.

No secret I'm looking to top up here, almost at any price ahead of results but just holding out to see if I can pick up a yellow labelled M&S stock bargin.

In terms of shorters, big boys, watch how Marshall have been reducing and their level last year, I'm working on the principle they'll continue, to reduce. Can I ask for a memory check please, am I correct that they will no longer need to report below 0.5%, so the like of Blackrock may still have a short open and could also be reducing as we speak?
