I was impressed to with the presentation, moreso because the question that was asked about execution risk was one they could have easily dodged but took head on. It got me thinking about

1. EV and Tesla in particular: I checked their brake suppliers. Surprise surprise it is Brembo who have a factory in Mexico, but there appears to have been some issues in recent years re. brakes. 2. Takeover: The OEMS all know about ST and the hard years, cash, tech, and specialist expertise that has finally got the company here after all this time. So if the OEMs know about them, you can bet your bottom euro that the supply chain does as well. And there must be a possibility that someone like Melrose comes a-knocking, as it would fit perfectly with their business having taken over GKN etc.... In that situation it would be fascinating to get a glimpse at the OEM contracts and what it stipulates about Change of Control ...

And for what its worth , I do see Andy definitely going after a NASDAQ listing. In doing so he would be following a well trodden path by other biotech type businesses. e.g GW Pharma. Its where the expertise is, where the peer group is, where there are big pools of risk-capital, plus very sophisticated investors and analysts. Plus the prospective multiples and remuneration rewards are far in excess of what he can expect in the UK. Oh and the weather is better.

Worth noting that sp is back up to where it was in July 2019, and the rocket under the sp has only happened in last 4 weeks or so. Am a strong believer in the investment case: their liquid biopsy system is a potential blockbuster, its been years in the making, the evidential backing is substantial, and it fills a major clinical need. Whether Angle under Newlands has the commercial, operational and managerial skillsets to really turn this into a blockbuster business is the big issue. For the time being that isn't a question that needs to be addressed. Once the FDA approves it ( not sure they wont just kick the can down the road once for their own image reasons...) which I believe they will, then the focus will be on management ability to deliver and scale up.

Positive newsflow looks rather contrived & a touch arch to me. Clearly targeted at FDA and US possible listing/shareholders. First, FDA is not going to be bounced into a decision based on this activity however anecdotally supportive. Second pumping the story at this stage is unnecessary imho, and potentially dangerous if FDA throw a spanner in the works. I get the eagerness to impress but Mr Newlands needs to 'curb his enthusiasm' just a tad at this delicate stage.

If the technical report comes back and says "Oops we got it wrong, there is far more oil recoverable than we thought in our last report..." then maybe we have a fighting chance of the company recovering but it all hinges on that report. What a @@@@@@ mess thanks to the mega incompetence and laziness of this board of directors who should be ashamed of their non-actions

This Board's failure to manage this business under Trice is criminal. Their decision to crater the business case to avoid responsibility utterly cynical ( look at Smith's behaviour since, taking on another NED position), the comments in last RNS utterly craven, and as a result, they have made a total mess of things. Maris may or may not manage to change the direction of travel but no sign that his actions match his words ( look at failure of board share buying).

At present, we could basically shut down everything and keep the taps on at our one producing 12,000 bopd field and accumulate tonnes of cash till we run out of reserves which based on the last Incompetent Person's Report is around about next autumn. So then we are a cash rich shell, with tax credits, and a listing on AIM. Maybe that is the strategy. Who knows, right?

Fair assessment. At the moment, Mr Market is definitely in the doubters stable, which has to be a concern, as it suggests that the stream of supposedly good news coming from H, is now almost 100 pc discounted. If that is indeed the case the climb back to a sensible valuation will take time, as long as H remains exec chairman charged with setting up a mine. Best outcome by far would be (1) we get sensible funding package in E paving way for actual mine construction., at which point H appoints a punchy mining CEO and steps up to non-exec. The Saudis will be playing close attention to whats happening in E as will the Es in Saudi.

Ha! I normally keep my powder dry, but there is a certain type of CEO, as you will know from your travels, that promise and either don't deliver or deliver something completely different or deliver too late. My concern is that H exhibits all the characteristics of the above - cant figure out which one he is. With markets look extremely stretched in valuation terms (look at your industry and tech in the US), if the funding is going to get done it has to be quite soon, because if the US market goes pop, things could get tricky for un-shovel-ready projects.

I wasn't running mining funds, mainly equity income and alpha-driven mid cap. Most of the sector analysts I know covered the big London-listed resources groups,( likes of Xstrata, Glencore, RTZ, Anglos etc....)

The answer is a big fat No. I did try to check him out but he was down under most of his career, so was difficult as I dont have many contacts there. I was warned by one Canadian TSX investor to mind my eye about AIM listed miners, and didnt bloody listen. His point being as it turned out that management is everything, and too many were lifestyle businesses.
