Covid Tech Sales2 Apr 2020 09:26
The original assumption here was that Covid tech sales would be minor, irrelevant or immaterial. That has changed drastically. The Company cannot predict the overall revenue generation from those tech sales any more accurately than it can predict the size of the impact on passenger numbers at Lungi (no-one knows how this crisis will play out), but clearly those sales have ramped up dramatically in the last 2 weeks, and that pattern can reasonably be expected to continue for a while longer yet - all of which is an excellent counterbalance to the effects of Covid across the rest of the business. The real investment picture here then, is that there is effective revenue support during the worst of the crisis on the main company operations. It is not obvious that Tema will be affected all that much at all, execept for maybe a 1-2 months period from now. Looking further ahead though, we can expect to see Tema cargo revenue increase from under 1m TEU's at present to a maximum Port capacity of 3.7m TEU's in 2021, and that extra revenue should drop to the bottom line every year on the basis of a 5 year recurring contract model with fixed operating costs. I don't see how that value can be priced in yet.

So far in Q1 2020, the Group has received over $2.1 million USD of online product orders of which $1.7 million USD were in March 2020 and over $1.2 million USD of that was the last two weeks alone, mitigating the reductions in our airport business.
