I am covering all bases as you are singing from a similar hymm sheet as DHC and Vander. I have to correct you on balance of tech sales v Lunghi revenues. The benefit of those revenues has been offset, rather than just equalled. So no matter whatever the profit margin is, we are covered and you can rest easy (you can read this in the last RNS if you don't believe me). They are selling sufficient product to cover the effect of those lost revenues. I can see why you think you have been told something different but it is more straightforward and you don't ned to know the margin - it has all been worked out before giving the statement. Frankly i would be surprised if you are correct because $250,000 dollars of sales in 2 days, even at 20% margin, would be more than Lunghi.

Yoy don't seem very well acquainted with the practical realities of the contract law nature of this deal. The way this works is that Scanport will now be obligated to deliver on their contractual obligations to MPS, which is to provide the services via the named partner (WSG). And if they don't manage to do that then they will incurr some hefty liabilities. Scanport carries the risk of default, but most companies in this situation will have been sensible enough to protect themselves by entering into mutual contractual obligation requiring WSG to sign up. If they have been prudent in this way then all the related terms will have agreed and cannot be renogiated, and indeed that is effectively what we were told. I accept WSG could still play hardball and demand more from the deal, if Scanport has left this to chance and they want to screw them over. I don't think WSG would choose to do something like, because they said they were happy with the deal and it would be a guaranteed way to lose the contract after the 5 year renewal

The market is not in anyone's favour, unless you sold in Dec / January with all this on the horizon, and now have to cash to use.

Vander - my opinion is that you are wrong, and since your views are not based on any measured objective data I think I have a much better chance of being right than you. There IS a contract in place which anticipates WSG being formally appointed. For the life of me I cannot see any possibility of GPHA re-negotiating with MPS now - GPHA got exactly what they wanted from the deal You don't even consider the contract obligations on Scanport to deliver a signed contract with WSG to meet its contractual obligations!!! Or the huge disruption that would arise from it trying to switch partners unnecessarily. It would probably make itself go bust. All of which makes your views utterly preposterous.

I just took a look at the ship data for the first time, which I found to be both interesting and comforting. As we have been told this clearly shows that the new Port is running at record numbers in March. I am speculatng now but it is logical that if the Port had already been operating at full capacity then we might have seen a drop off in numbers, but the picture is different. In practice it seems that any logistical issues worldwide are easily compensated and offset by increased use of the Port as its capacity has expanded and as it has been able to attract new business generally. Demand for use of the Port is building not slumping.

It's already worth another Lunghi, and as you say that's before they have caught up with demand

For now, the coronavirus tech sales just means extra wonga to the bottom line - so like now having three MSC's (I count Tema as it is operational and will be signed). Happy days.

"Increase in PRODUCT sales...." (RNS wording) i.e Increase in SALES ACTIVITY.
"Increase in sales REVENUE" i.e proceeds / receipts from sales (Foxhill misreading of RNS)
".. to OFFSET any potential reduction in revenues " (RNS wording) - i.e It is implicit that the sales activity will offset the effects of the covers profit too.
"...to MATCH any potential reduction in revenues". (Foxhill misreading of RNS).

If you actually answered the question I posed it would help you get to the correct answer. Do I need to quote the same line in the RNS again? It uses the word "offset" so you should be able to spot it!

You dont know the difference between sales and revenues.

The writer of the RNS would reasonably expect an investor to not just read the words, but also to apply common sense:-
"..... we expect our increase in product SALES due to the COVID-19 crisis to OFFSET any potential reduction in REVENUES from our aviation security business.
Quesiton for you:-
If REVENUES go down at Lunghi do you think profit goes up, down or stays the same?
