Fleccy, to use your words, the problem is, at the moment it is just a big story, with nothing really new except the mention of BT making preparations, DT are sticking to the no real comment approach and the news about BT making preparations is based on rumour as far as I can make out. We will all find out soon enough that something is obviously going to happen nearer the time. Aus, the pension is sustainable, and the debt is being paid, thats old news dead and buried, the way I see it is the "business" failed miserably at managing the pension, and now want to make the current wage earners and future pensioners pay for the piss poor management mistakes of the past, present and future, do some research and you will see that many of the top brass are set to receive more in their first 6 months of drawing their pension than a Openreach engineer would earn over a 50 year career, yet in the same breath they are saying they are making the changes to be "fair and achievable". I say go squeeze out some more hide and seek management, start scrapping that copper, get people on customer service desks that speak understandable English and also understand English, and leave the people that do the actual work alone for a few years. The "Business" trying to squeeze every last drop of life and earnings out the older employees has very little to no bearing on the daily ups and downs of the "Business" share price. The general consensus on the interwebs is that everybody hates BT and Openreach for many reasons, they don't get any love when they do get it right either. Jansen may be the saviour, we will have to wait and see.

Why not ask the affected staff how much tax free cash they would accept to change it, £25000 a head would be a fair price, when they turn it down and offer £750 , give the fat union jerks something to do, perhaps accept a final accepted offer of £20000 and jobs a good one. Not sure why they haven thought of this already? That would probably have been cheaper to do than going to court twice, or three times including the next rejection.

Reading the reports regarding Huawei equiptment in BT network at present I gather that will stay, but they will be removing it from their current mobile sites and wont be using it for their 5G network, its important to follow what your major allies dictate to you, the rest is called propaganda and you can see how it works by watching the fear and discontent caused,why it even floods out on this forum for example, last week Huawei wasn't a issue, one BBC news report later and now everybody told the CEO years ago that bla bla bla.

If I recall correctly I must have had twenty to thirty (plus all the didn't make it past the end of the week "look at the size of my gold chest medallion" managers) "Managers" they came and went, all the same, softly softly at first, then the crack the whip and do things my way or the highway kicks in, I worked in the same department making the same suggestions over and over again, I made the same innovative ideas and suggestions with each new manager, I got rewarded 8 times for the same bloody idea by 8 different managers, it all boiled down to Diesel engines are the future, well all those short sighted imbeciles are gone along with the R&D, and my job is dead and buried. The company was rigged because it worked hand in hand with big petrol and chemical company's, they simply would not profit from cars that used electricity. Management held back and restricted everything just to stick to the well trodden golden path that lead to there bonus. I loved my job and was good at it, nothing really changed from 1980 onward, just tinkered and developed the same old money earner so the chumps got there Bonus.

Well I cant see Prospect and CWU working together to stop any backlash, the people in the CWU are people that do the work, and the people that are in Prospect come to work to manipulate the workforce statistics and stop them spending any money regardless of how it affects people that use the company's service for one reason only, to reach their own bonus payments and keep their company cars! That's the way I see it, I came from a very large corporate background with over twice as many people that BT employee and that is exactly how it was setup. Large air-conditioned offices full of fat lazy self important people that had never done a days work in their lives.
