I feel a there she blows moment is coming. It would be nice if we all kept hold of our shares to make the shorters pay for their hope and aspiration that Iqe will do badly. Such a negative way to make money.

Because it is a new technology with potential to make Material amounts of money for Iqe. This is material because this announcement tells us that the technology works, that there is a client who has seen that it works and tested it’s use and put in a small order to buy some of it. Iqe knows it can make the stuff and because it uses the recently acquired ip no one else can unless Iqe want them to. This is material because these edge emitting lasers are used to send data along fibre optic cables in and around data centres at very high frequencies that are essential to the new 5g infrastructure. The market is huge and iqe will either be able to make the stuff themselves or maybe licence their ip out. This is material because this is the end of a long road that has been navigated by Iqe in an exemplary fashion. This isn’t any old edge emitting lazar but fast and cheap - what is not to like. Belt up

Same old, same old - i am impressed with the resilience of some of the people here - the twisting of facts to fit a story and the optimism is wonderful to behold. I suppose if a crash is slow enough it doesn’t look like a crash just a gentle pulling up.

They have added another .15% as per rns issued today and are now 3rd most significant shareholder coming from nowhere a week ago. I wonder what they are up to for they have a reputation as a very successful no nonsense bank who sometimes act for companies in mergers and acquisitions.

You could look at it another way - a fantastic opportunity to buy these cheaply before the shorters start buying back. The way I look at it is that the share price is being held down by the shorters increasing their positions. Goldman sax disclosed a few days ago a position of 6% created from nowhere and of those 5% has been lent out. So Goldman sax has lent to shorters 35Millionshares that are or have been sold during this last week or so. This is all public knowledge just look at the most recent rns. Average sales of shares are about 3Million a day so if you effectively dump 35 Million shares into a low volume slightly illiquid company then the share price is going to go down - I’m surprised it hasn’t gone down more. Remember almost 3/4 of the share here are held by institutions who don’t trade and hold for the long term - this is why this share moves disproportionately. I think it is good news that Goldman think this is a good share to have - I wish they hadn’t rented them out - but at some point they’ll want them back and then the reverse will happen and the price will rise (and I think a lot)

Of about 6%. They look like they have lent our 5% - to shorters I assume. I wonder what they are up to - and where did they get the shares from - 35Million shares from this low volume share represents the total average buy and sells for a week and a half - maybe built up slowly and now has just poked head above ground.

If a leopard doesn’t change it’s spots I expect a trading statement in July sometime. The shorts have oversold, in my opinion, at almost 10% - that means to close their positions they will have to buy back in total almost 75 Million shares which represents almost a month of normal purchases - that has got to effect the market. With the new rules about Margin calls discussed here some will be forced to close buy the end of July. My Birthday is in July and I’m hoping for a big present

Why wait all this time before you spend money for growth. If I read correctly Tanfield investors will be bought out for a price based on its recent performance. The recent performance of Snorkle is due in part to business decisions made by its management with regards to investment and marketing. It’s management doesn’t seem to be fully independent from Ahern. Who ever structured this was mad. I’m glad I’m out of it and can see this becoming a battlefield for lawyers. About a year ago I rang up the snorkle outpost here in the U.K. just to get a feel for the company. I rang during the day and there was no answer, or answerphone so no callback. So I perused the website that was not impressive. The recent increase in spending will not bear fruit immediately but the cost will be part of the calculation for the price. Very clever.

A share I rather like and further a share that is shorted and traded to the detriment of both the company and some of the shareholders. N4a£. Dyslexia rules “ko”. I see you have old fashioned views where it is shameful to be dyslexic and you diss their views and intellect based on their disability. Drew Nelson said at the agm that institutional holders are putting a floor on this and buying at these levels. So as far as I’m concerned I will buy as well, because to me this is a one way bet and that is up. What ever happens between USA and China the technology is needed and the market is huge. Lots of news over the summer that will give comfort to the doubters.

Average volume traded for a day is about 5Million shares traded. So far today only just over 1 _Million have been traded - of those two thirds are sells . So volumes are low and there have not been a lot of sells. This is why the price has reasonably stable.
