Today's UK COVID data makes very ugly reading.

My partner works in healthcare and has seen 8 people die of COVID.

Still no sign of any vaccine and she works in residential care, supposedly
that's Group 1.

I'm in Group 6, goodness knows how long that's going to be.

Some of the small cap moves today look a little frothy fwiw.
Year end bonuses for the big City boys and I think we are seeing
a year end pump in some prices, with a possible
mini dump commencing around January 5.

Should stress the above is just a speculative guessestimate which

Keep a eye on the new strain of COVID potentially spreading rapidly
in other countries- that's perhaps the biggest short term

while instore sales are on a long term trend downwards.

Around 2014 coincided with the peak margin on Tesco UK food retail at
approx 6.3%, a margin now they could now only dream about.

To the best of my knowledge no comment has been made since on the

AZN are approx doubling their net debt and there will be
a boatload of new shares in issue .

If the acquisition target had been in the $ 10-15 bn range the
market may not have reacted as it has - providing it
liked what they were buying.

The SP move above £100 looked like a mini parabolic run on the
basis of a vaccine where no direct commercial return was available,
or at least very unlikely in 2021. Annual contracts to treat an endemic
Covid-19 virus may give opportunity over coming years.

In terms of the current SP, the multiple is now lower than it has been
sometime the CEO may be due the benefit of any doubt.

I bought a few for a trade, which I have now closed.

And regardless of any views on AZN, we should all welcome their vaccine news.
It's an incredible achievement and key to the UK vaccination programme,
along with many other countries.

AZN have been very clear- no commercial return while a pandemic persists.

So IF Covid-19 becomes endemic and requires an annual vaccination
And IF AZN wins some of those contracts, there may be a commercial return
(Lots of IF's).

This vaccine will hopefully buy AZN some goodwill, that's a positive longer term.
