I think it's as simple as selling a property for x dollars is considered x dollars worth of income, on which the normal taxes apply. Whereas if the whole company is taken over, your shares just change name and there's no taxable event. But I'm no expert... barely even acquainted with such matters.

I've previously seen the old railway line mentioned as a great place to build a concentrate slurry pipeline to the port. Sounds a lot cheaper and easier than HS2!

There's no reason for financing or starting construction to stop all takeover bids. Also. solg is not a one-trick pony, or at least it shouldn't be by then...they surely have to drill their other projects sometime this century! Also the shares will go up or down withe fates of gold and copper. Therefore no guarantee of stagnation, or even of a permanently high plateau.

They're doing everything you could want, in terms of Tier-One reassurance. So sit back and relax.

Well yes, gold has always had some well-credentialed big-knobs saying it's going to the moon any day now...But now the world's in a f'ing tailspin...so maybe it's NOW??? If you were going to chip off some winnings here & there, i would say put those into small but likely gold stocks. We've never put the economy into a SELF-INDUCED coma before...so it's a great time to bet a few more % on chaos and gold???
