But maybe if dgr's holdings are the difference between a yea and a no, Mather can do a side deal and flog dgr's 7% at a premium price in order to get the whole purchase over the line.

WA iron ore exports are the one thing keeping Britain's greatest creation afloat. From next year, the challenge from Simandou exports will start to impact though. Rio and BHP's properties are all lowest quartile producers with high-spec products, but not as good as the new African (Chinese) challenger. I'm not sure how it all plays out, but Rio shares are insulated via their interest in Simandou. Maybe not all their employees are equally insulated though.
