It was a bit easier back then...solg had already drilled and assayed their best holes ever and it was still under 2p!!! xtr is 2 or 3x that market cap before assays...the market is more awake to commodities, so we have to pay more for our lottery tickets. But, these are very obvious tickets to buy, imo.

Those of us retail investors with naturally limited information are wasting our energy by trying to divide the players up into goodies & baddies, like a latino telenovella.

Ask yourself - what is the "size of the prize" with potential mineral discoveries of this style - eg value of a Boda or North Parkes or (OMG) Cadia? Then, what is the probability that they "got it" based on what we know so far? Then compare it with other porphyry mobs at a similar market cap. That's all just comparison shopping. Then look at the charts, cast an i ching, read some cat entrails and have a guess what the price will do today.

Anglo can only exercise their buyback right (at a fair price from an outside adjudicator,) after a decision to mine or after delineation of 2mt of copper, if i remember correctly. Once I read those terms I was no longer deterred from buying.

We're all free to be wrong on such a speculative topic, but I'm happy to see solg be cranky, awkward, punchy, delayed etc etc while the price of Cu is looking to double, and while gold is very strong, and while we can drill up 1-10 new comparable properties. When copper hits 5 and gold hits 3, and solg discovers it's 3rd or 4th winning porphyry....would you wish Grumblebum had sold out in 2017 for $2 Bill??? Maybe.

I mean, there ARE positives Haveiron has over Alpala, eg Australia not Ecuador, brownfields not greenfields, much smaller capex, much shorter time to production. But then there are obvious advantages for Alpala as well, starting with market cap and resource size. Then there's the broader solg advantages, ie the regionals, which are super promising so far.
