You guys don't get it. If the company announces they are going to 'do something' in a couple of months time, the share price is likely to increase a bit over that time. When they announce they have done what they said they would do, it is no surprise that it has happened, its not new news or even particularly good news, it is just news 'as expected' and the whole thing is already built in to the price. After the announcement - in this case drilling - the risk increases so the risk averse people bale out and then there are the traditional sell on news brigade. You'll now have to wait until there is some positive words coming back from the wellsite or someone starts a rumour about being taken over for 100m.
