Thanks Sankeys. Interesting they are using Stena Drilling.....t'is whom I used to work for. The Drill ship ( Stena Forth) they are using was 'new' at the time. My rig was the Stana Spey, sadly now sitting inoperative awaiting its fate. ATB. Lets hope that after the weekend Zen have a bit more news wrt the drill site progress. Its not just about the rig unfortunately, I would like to see the 'other stuff' in the tweets. 6 weeks to set up the rig and other equipment and then an alleged 3 weeks to drill. Ahem, lets bl**dy hope so and let it be game changing.

AJW. I have been involved in tank construction, double skinned high grade stainless steel. Some for liquid nitrogen and some lng. The few plates and a box of rods was tongue in cheek, but the reality is that if they pick a standard proven design and get a posse of welders on board they could construct a basic single skin oil tank or two in a couple of months. Stick a breather pipe on top for the vacuum, stick in a fill line and a discharge line, add in a high and a high high level control to control the fill line valve and there you go. Lol. Easy Peasy. It will be interesting to learn what Bloe have in store for the top sides process and storage. ATB, keep up the good posts

Hi Ageos. Good to see you in here. Georgia I believe has been under developed or explored and once again historic data is sketchy. Once they complete W38 it will give more confidence in the success of the field in general and prove connectivity across that anticline that you mention--and become more of an interest to long term investors. Still dreaming that the other one can at least get some oil out this year with their C37. Best rgds to you.

It could be possible if 38 comes on stream in a similar way and has potential for 1000-1500 bbls then with capacity issues resolved for both, income could be £4m per month, with a P/E of just 4 = 200m mcap. A dream? well possibly, but there is the potential here for something similar to that. And then Gas, 2 further WR sidetracks and Norio sidetrack end of year. My modest investment at 2.95 plus a few additions at 4p is not looking too shabby just now. 50p would put a smile on.

It is rather make or break, but this time around there is more confidence and technical support to indicate a better chance of success. The well is ready, has been cleaned out and integrity tested. No surprises or blame to be apportioned to incorrect information, no stuck 'metal' in the 'pipe'. All they have to do is join some dp together and drill through some relatively easy to drill rock formation and then pull it back out again without dropping anything---more or less. If they remember to stick a bit on the end that goes into the hole first it would help matters. See if we can complete this before its first anniversary.

Would solve my current financial predicament, I hope that it becomes a reality. Block managed it from a similar base over a 6 week period so is possible. Fingers crossed.

Looks like you and I keeping the bb occupied today. It would indeed by good to see 700-1000 bbls a day coming out of C37 with Oil at recent highs. It would bring us up to about 30m mcap or thereabouts. Zen missed the last mini boom, hurry up chaps, tally ho, chop chop.

Tiburn, it may be entering the well bore through natural fractures from around the well bore. I.e from below the plug and up past the outside into the bore. ...maybe.. and not literally through the plug as that would defeat the purpose,of the plug unless it was a sh&t cement job full of cavities..or it shrunk, or the wellbore is shagged at the bottom end and the cement didn't close up the scrapes thus allowing the light oil under pressure to blast its way through. Anyhow, the fact that there is oil under pressure that is keen to come and say hello to the world is sufficient. The best method to get it out needs to be re-assessed. They are however taking their time to do something about it.

Can't see the travelling block or guides in place yet, or the top drive if it has one. I am assuming that to get it vertical they will use the rig power and pull it up.

Donging great drill bit or a ferret. Well, how about a skinny little 2.75 drill bit stuck on the end of a string of lightweight DP running off the current rig and getting a little hole down through the cement and 100-200m into the formation. The oil would be flowing like a Rat up a drainpipe :)

RH. Sometimes yes, sometimes less attractive. If it breaks then there is no recompense from the hirer. When it needs a critical component you are held to ransom by the manufacturer. A major component wear or failure could result in 6-12 months of inoperability. But in agreement with the general consensus that it is a good thing, it should in theory save money and they should look after it like it is the Crown Jewels so that it never needs major components.
