Hi all,

I "get" that Trahar's so far unquantified involvement with Binding MIGHT lead to something, objectively speaking it's hard to know at this stage....and the rest of his record at Companies House isn't very informative.

Of the 5 co's AJT's involved in (UK companies and maybe only a fraction of his overall interests, I accept), his filings show (https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/officers/_L2dqDIxyhTuEI8YTc-_cQ0P-Wc/appointments) :

- Binding Solutions has £-200K shareholder funds;

- he appears to have a 5-10% shareholding in a £ 50M t/o car and van hire co in the East Midlands that made a £ 1.6M loss last year;

- he was Director (so too was son Andrew for a while) of Laneglade Projects Limited, owned by Laneglade Limited, which went into voluntary liquidation in 2017;

- he owns 50-75% of Bartlett Resources, his own consultancy, no financial info available;

- he was a NED at CWD UK Projects, no meaningful financial info available.

There's supposed to be some more info due out shortly re BInding that MIGHT be material, or might not.

If BInding's technology has wider application, he might just think this a good opportunity for A.N.Other iron ore project or projects - including projects already up and running - and not just our 'potential' project.

The alchemist who figures out how to turn lead into gold isn't just interested in one supply of lead.....

Let's see what happens.

I'ma bit tied up on something else at the moment, a quick google suggests - note, suggests - this might be a positive, depending on what Trahar's contribution is expected to be : Companies House appears to show that Binding solutions has a negative net worth and reports that its year end accounts are overdue.

If Trahar is buying in / recapitalizing, that would , on the face of it be very welcome, both to the co and us as Zioc shareholders.

As it's a private co, we'll have to wait and see what they decide to tell us.

I'm as keen as the next man to hear specifics.

I'm sure that we'd all like to see a bidding war, sooner rather than later, that sees us 'properly' valued , so we can get on with other things in our life.

But what happens if there is no such bid- as some suspect was part of the rationale for doing the fairly concessionary Spirit deal ?

I see this article as presenting a plausible ' Plan B' in case things don't pan out quite as we would hope.

Without wanting to start a diversionary hare, it's our Government's failure to have such a plausible Plan B in place that has led to the current Brexit pickle.

So your rebuttal of the article re Kenya consists of querying the name of the author of the zerohedge article (ignoring that it was sourced from AfricaStand, quoting Kenyan auditors) and an indirect denial from the Chinese side, which invites the Many Rice-Davies riposte : " Well, they would say that , wouldn't they ? "

And ignores the other precedents for similar behaviour I quoted, viz. Djibouti and Sri Lanka.....

Hi all,

It's been mildly interesting - and informative, but not in a useful way - to scan some of the (more imaginative)postings over the last 24 hours or so as to what has caused the apparent 'hiccup' in AM's hitherto stately progress towards implementation.

Like many, I'm looking forward to an RNS at some point that will - hopefully - turn heat into light.

Meanwhile, our new NED has been gifted with an unforeseen opportunity to burnish her credentials : not only is she an experienced lawyer in oil company matters - and will know whether there's a LEGAL case for producing an RNS - she should also have the 'street savvy' and commercial wit to know whether there's a 'softer' case for so doing eg investor relations, public image etc

Agree too your cynicism re his commitment to anti-corruption measures. As I've said before, a few members of the clan need to be 'named and shamed' (or worse), pour encourager les autres…..

Your comments might be relevant (as the link suggests) in the context of a company such as google that depended on certain IQ traits, but surely aren't AS relevant in most other companies, including, I would say, HUR.

At the purely anecdotal level I would venture that my son (NatSci , Cambridge) has a higher 'technical' IQ than my daughter (medicine, Imperial) but that this is largely offset in 'the real world' by her greater emotional intelligence and 'practicality'. Something we've discussed and that they both (appear to) agree with...

Interested in your comment that RoC Govt. is 'in checkmate'. Why do you say that ? I'm aware there's been some tinkering around the edges with Nguesso's buddies eg Ebata over at forestry, allegedly under IMF pressure, but haven't myself seen any obvious game-changer.

Incidentally, the article is fairly upbeat about the gradual switch in the emphasis at GLEN from trading to mining, which other things being equal should give more support for any deal going forward.
