Stay away from the 'Research and Development department' Blu. Sometimes to make progress you need 75% to 85% evidence to continue to explore and progress. The surface water system was successful, the ESP functioned as expected, they were able to seperate the Helium at the surface. You are closing down the whole operation based on GWR. The RNS, between the lines, suggests they are seeking a partner and the Karoo affected the test results here. They have enough confidence that when you bypass the Karoo, you achieve success! What don't you see?

Of course it is! You lock in a partner and drill the first hole, prove the intial findings by targeting the shallow Karoo's, tap into the basement and continue from there. There was enough evidence from the ESP test to demonstrate commerciality without hitting the nail directly on the head. This test proved enough confidence in the findings indirectly to lock in a partner due to the high helium percentage, replenishing pressure, high temp, and location of the source of the helium.

What they need to do Blu, is start the Early production System, crack on with the first five wells in the knowledge that the Helium is flowing from the basement. The proof is in the pudding and the Itumbula ESP test just proved it!

I don't read the RNS results pessimistically.

They are suggesting from the 5 wells that make up the EPS, they will be targeting areas that have a shallower Karoo intersection. If they can bypass the Karoo's clean water dilution and tap the basement directly, then they could access much higher helium concentrations, with better GWR and up to the 9.2% helium concentrations.

Pragmatically, there may only be a requirement to drill 3 of a potential 5 wells to achieve the same helium output in the Early Plant system (which could bypass the need for Itumbula anyway). The number of holes required across the whole ML area may have now significantly reduced to get the same output of Helium and the cost for production may also have significantly reduced.

You are right to question Blu, remain independent and keep kicking the tyres.

However this is going to play out, all will be revealed imminently as the 5% ownership will need to be revealed soon if a whale has been buying large quantities.

There is a still a lot to play for and I'm hopeful that Helium One's mission, in the long term, will be achieved.

The whale buying could be a protection mechanism deployed by the west to stop Helium One and its asset being bought out by a Chinese company. There are lots of potential scenarios that are still on the table.

So are we talking either; a whale buying a toe-hold, an institution/government/companies buying into a JV, or a potential take over bid?

I like the theory that a JV can be formed on the basis that you can prove a modular plants success in Galactica can be scaled out in Rukwa, alongside provable Helium extraction when using the ESP.
