Any GTL provider can knock out a few gallons using natural gas.
I mean the full end to end, waste to fuel process. They’ve not done it, even at small scale. It’s the waste to fuel process that is being commercialised, not the Velocys technology.
If you think Envia is enough proof that the waste to fuels process will work, then you need to get back to your diligence activity my friend.

I’ll tell you exactly what my motives are. Saving taxpayer money from being thrown down the drain. We all know what happened with APP. Tax payer money thrown at it and ended up in receivership. Let’s put money into companies that have proved their process, at some scale. VLS have not produced a liter of fuel and they expect 10’s of millions in handouts. It’s just not right imho.

Yawn. You’re missing the point. Sure, if and ince construction is underway, no delay. This issue here is getting planning in place, which will be delayed. The more delay, the more money gets burned on keeping the ship afloat. How long is left?

So no, holding objections are unusual and may impact progress in this instance.

b) this review request by cadent will need addressing by VLS = more delay to the Planning decision.

Its petty clear to me that if gas pipes are running beneath the site and no excavation or piling is allowed within 150m of said pipes, this is a material issue that needs to be resolved asap. Somebody has clearly dropped the ball on this aspect of the PP.

I strongly expect PP is just part of it. In the case of Lanxatech, they dont even use biomass. they appear to use waste fossil gasses, which inst currently eligible for the RFTO credits.

I am in at 2p and will be getting out once PP and F4C execution is announced. Following those 2 events, there will be nothing on the horizon for about 2 years.

Imho, BP dominates in the biojet space. They have been investing for many years, with Shell replicating many of BP’s moves. The biggest difference is that BP has made actual investments, whereas Shell, thus far, has not. Time will tell.

I agree with your sentiment on the Climate emergency. Action needs to be taken; real action that can make a difference.

Where I wholeheartedly disagree is that VLS is 'as good as it gets'. There are players out there that have demonstrated their process, got plants built, proven their ability to finance. VLS has done none of these and continues to struggle with even the basics. This will become very obvious, very soon.

But they have no waste to fuel demo plant and not produced a drop of jet fue,l at any scale. Eventually, the truth will emerge when the banks tear it to pieces...

Drax need to reduce their CO2 emissions in the next few years, to meet climate regulation on industrial climate change effects. If they don't do this, they go out of business. They realised a few years ago that switching to biomass pellets alone, will not enable them to reach the targets, hence their interest in CO2 capture. They have invested a small amount in a company called C-Capture (together with BP), to develop CO2 removal technology.

This is their focus. Not investing in a liquid fuels company with no working 'waste to fuels' demonstration plant to speak of and no need to employ CCS in a UK policy environment.

Nonsense. Again, Drax have seen the great PR from VLS, due to their associations with BA abs Shell and want some of the action. Likewise, VLS have seen the PR spin from Drax on CCS.
Their businesses are complimentary at best, but there is zero business benefit in a tie up. Read the RRFO.
As for buying them, Drax wouldn’t touch VLS with a bargepole, for all the reason mentioned on this board. I don’t see a queue of investors, do you?

S&w, with respect, you are barely scratching the surface with knowledge of both CCS and RTFO policy. I won’t repeat my below post as it’s clearly not being taken with any consideration. It’s pretty obvious the VLS have latched onto Drax to maximise exposure for minimal effort. There is literally no benefit with such a tie up.

Of course, you can ignore or factor-in these facts at your discretion, however a simple review of the RTFO will show you why Carbon negative fuels are not supported under the current regime and therefore means this is just PR hype.

This link is nothing more than PR. VLS do not need to produce Carbon negative fuels - in fact, producing Carbon negative fuels carries additional costs that cannot he recovered through existing policy support. VLS need to produce fuels that meet a certain carbon threshold in order to qualify for RTFO support. Any further reduction in carbon savings is not rewarded.
In summary, any relationship with Drax and their CCUS project will be related to VLS reaching said policy threshold, not exceeding it.
