What i failed to factor-in was the annual report due soon.

IM: clearly you've either missed your entry point, you're blind as to the reality of this loss making caompany, or are owed big time by this stock. I suspect its a combination of all 3.

Have you ever read a report? It'll state the health of the business and whats needed to continue. It wont be pretty.

The black and white seal of approval is just a formality in this instance. All the Councillors supported the application so the news we've all been waiting for was yesterday. The next leg up will be Government funding. But between now and then, we have the annual results, which wont be pretty.

For those that know me on here (Thurg, IM et al) they know that the tune ive been playing has two verses. A Planning Permission verse and a Long Term verse. I bought into the PP ride and made a decent profit, buying at around 2.5 and selling at just under 4.5. This was my trade strategy and was no secret. Also no secret is my opinion on the long term viability of VLS and the projects it is trying to develop. The posts about technology, previous fund raises, investors (or lack of), previous leadership changes, lack of developer experience are all FACTS and will influence the ability of the company to continue. The PP is done and dusted and Ive made a bit. It might go up a bit more in teh next few days, or just like following the 1m pound boost from last week, fall back to pre-annoucement levels in short order. I'll continue to post my view on the technology and future forecasts, but as always DYOR (but please actually DO your research before attempting to shoot me down)

As I keep saying, my comments are not about getting Planning Permission, its about what lies ahead after planning - the ability to remain a going concern, raise more money, develop a project to completion. An applicant can say whatever they want in the submission in order to get the permission. This happens all the time. The hard bit is funding the actual development itself and this is hard for proven technology, never mind unproven.
Velocys have never developed any type of project before and have had a real struggle attracting investors willing to put up BIG amounts to move the projects along. All BA and Shell are doing here is bringing their brand to the project in an attempt to attract big investors. However, said big investors are clever and they will ask all the questions, that unfortunately, VLS has no acceptable answers for.

Will be an interesting read. 90% of people on this board should probably read it.

Some corrections to you post. VLS have planning permission. They still need to apply for a permit and sometimes that can be difficult to get as statements made to achieve planning are further scrutinized.

This technology has not been proven (the wholes process, not just the VLS kit), so there is a lot of risk involved for any large project investor. This will be the biggest risk to the project imho.

Check out the trends for ratings. They've all been getting lower over time. I think this share has bottomed now, but now that PP is in the bag, the task at hand is raising 500m quid to build it. The jury is out as to how long that will take and if indeed its achievable.

The following are my estimates on timescales for next steps for VLS and the project and affects on SP (high, medium, low):

- Full (official) Planning Approval within 1 week - Low, as already priced in
- Annual Results before end of May - High, if cash position is good, then this boeds well. If not, then its a ticking time bomb.
- F4C Grant, end of June - High, as this is more money in the kitty
- Permits Granted - Low
Then we'll go into a long period of inactivity, maybe 4 months
- More Development Funding from BA and Shell, August - High, if it appears

During the period form now until the end of the year, VLS need to secure a big investor to start putting serious money into the company/projects. This might be BA or Shell, but i think they've reached the limit of their risk appetite for now.
IMHO

It has gone up 75% in about a week. Thats a lot in anyone's book. The RSI is off the charts. Might need a reset before the next push higher.

Im worrying that this stock has done its dough for today.

We need the BA and Shell releases next and we'll be set for 10p minimum.
