Wrong. I traded the news - news that had a fixed date for release (PP). Made a few K of the back of it and jumped out. Now waiting for the next news leg up which will be the F4C. But i think that a few months away now given whats going on.

Can fact be dermaping? Id argue that any attempt to ramp this stock is unjustified. Short term, buy on news, sell the next day. Long term forget it.

VLS was 1GBP+ as it was the savior of stranded shale gas. Shale gas stayed in the ground and VLS moved to project development. Then it hit 1.5p. Go figure.

$5m is barely 1% of the project costs. Get real Pro88. VLS inability to secure strategic investors has been its downfall for years. You have to ask yourself why is that?

Why can Lanzatech secure so much funding when VLS cant (apart from about $5m in the last 3 years)?

Good example. The powerhouse tech is small scale and was derived from bench testing. That’s the way to do it.

Im afraid you're not quite correct Sean83. Syngas produced from the gasification of waste is far from sound. During my time in the waste industry, there have been numerous failures, notably AirProducts, that wrote off $1b on a failed waste to syngas project. This is AirProducts. If they cant do it, nobody can.
There are a number of Japanese gasification projects operating in Japan, however these produce very low grade syngas that is burned to power a gas turbine, not the high quality, clean syngas you need to produce fuels.

Its important to differentiate the difference between a homogeneous biomass and heterogeneous waste. You cannot compare the two.
Yes, the remainder of the process is proven, but the the syngas generation - to a composition and quality that is suitable for a FT reaction, is not. This is why smaller scale testing is imperative to prove the concept first, before going all out on a massive plant. Given the history of gasification, particularly that of AirProducts, the VLS project will not get financed.

Well here we are down 1% on the day.
What you lot seem to be continually overlooking is the technical readiness of what is being proposed by VLS. I agree with all the reasons why such a plant should be built and In an ideal world, it would. But the aspect that everyone apart from a few in here that are familiar with complex petrochemical infrastructure, is that there is NO proof that it will work. Again, why is everyone so blinkered!? At such a large scale and therefore cost, it’s too risky for a bank to lend on. Build something for a 1/10th if the size, get it working well, then scale up. This is what every other technical industry does to build confidence in the investor market. Why does VLS think they can shortcut the norm?

AB made his investment during the stranded gas era, which VLS was formed for it the first place. He wont be interested in this new developer business.

I know exactly what goes into a grant assessment as I have submitted applicaitons for previous waste to energy projects. There is a significant amount of risk acceptance at this early stage as there is an acknowledgement that projects like this have a high chance of failure early in their lifetime. They are supposed to support projects to enable them to get to a financialiable state, at which point the banks step in and fund it through to completion. The biggest hurdle VLS will face is a lack of smaller scale testing, as this has not been done. The flashy site drawings and small change investors wont impress the banks. Seen it alllll before.
