The number of armchair experts on this board is getting silly. If you care to read up on ANY associated documents related to this project with VLS by the UKGOV you'll see that these are development grants. They are not grants to go toward building the thing, they are merely to help companies carry out early stage activities in the hope that one of these numerous support grants will eventually succeed. This is the same category of funding that BA an Shell have put in.
Project financing will only come once a certain number of technical achievements have been met and its a long and expensive road to get there.

If you can find evidence of this process being proven at any scale today by Velocys, then I'll take it all back. If not, I suggest you learn from my posts and also read up on project financing and the conditions associated with such activity. Until then, stop with your ramping schoolyard drivel and get some factual, long term supporting content onto this board.

It will do all of those amazing things. Unfortunately, it costs 500m quid and will use a process that is totally unproven. No bank or institution will lend on it, regardless of the big names that have put around 1% of the total project value to date. A reality check is needed by many on here.

That said, there will be trading opportunities based on news.

Those who understand the chances of a project like this being fully funded probably!

yawn. The launch happened at PP. I traded the news as planned foe weeks in advance and now on the sidelines until evidence of further funding comes in (as Ive been saying for weeks). Nothing new here. The market will decide how it wants this to go based on the recent news, what plans are in place to make this a reality and most importantly, where the funding to build it are coming from.

no. Waiting for the pre-lim results to come and and to get an idea of next funding sources. Its clear that VLS is struggling to get serious investor funding, so Gov help will be required by way of the UK Garuntees Scheme.

I think the PP frenzy has had its day. It’s back to fundamentals and future funding plans. Ideally, some news in the next stages of the project and how it plans to be funded. Also, don’t forget the company results due too.

This is in the context of the project being built. The PP play is a dabble on the news and unrelated to the finance ability of the project . You are embarrassing yourself.

I admire your tenacity. Unfortunately, we’ll before you turned up looking for cheap gains, I’ve been saying this stock has a debatable future, but Plannning will eventually be secured. It now has been secured, I’ve made a bit from the news (sure, could have made more, but also could have lost), and my opinion of the ling term future is still the same. It’s my opinion based on several factors, several of which I’ve mentioned. Jog on if you do not wish to consider. There always the filter button.

This I agree with. Job generation is a huge driver and key point that helped it get PP.

Thurg: Two words - Speculative Capital. BA and Shell are prepared to loose that money, but should everything work out, the rewards for them are high. They know what they are doing. But I also suspect they are at, or close to their risk capital appetite and wont do much more until someone else comes in to shoulder the risk.

yes the did exist when i was in, but i punted on the PP news - which paid handsomely.
