By 'local', I mean domestic and the region, but I still wouldn't bank on Hajj flights to Saudi happening from that terminal this year (they promised the same thing last year!). I've heard ambiguity about whether Hajj flights will be from Terminal One or Salam Terminal.
As stated previously, it will open for local flights initially.
"Negotiations are coming, suggests @pandagulu, who, noting Rouhani’s victorious tone, translates him: "Our ppl managed to drive the Americans' decisions to another direction with their resistance. It is very obvious that the Americans changed their tone." https://t.co/7pyzlkFkhe"

Here's some coverage of it in English: https://twitter.com/GEsfandiari/status/1136263720110309376
"Chairman of Iran's parliament national security &foreign policy committee says Iran is nearing the removal of U.S. sanctions. Esmail Falahatpishe did not elaborate. He said Iran and U.S. have managed rising tensions in a way that has resulted in the sidelining of "extremists."
Falahatpisheh then suspended his activity on Twitter because he said he was receiving too many replies!

Also linked to Brexit. Cheers, Israel.
It sounds like the penny is beginning to drop for others regarding Israeli interference in elections:
"In my car today I had a thought: "The final piece of the puzzle is a strong connection between Russia and Israeli intel groups."
POLITICO (now): "[Russian oligarch] Deripaska is believed to have worked with Soriano [Israeli intel connections] on corporate intelligence matters.""

Like I said, one day it will all come out - hopefully!
There's been quite a lot recently:
- Iran have just released a US resident from prison.
- Khamenei is referring to Trump in relatively reasonable terms!
- The Japanese connection sounds very interesting.
- An Iranian foreign policy and security official said yesterday that sanctions will be lifted soon and that US and Iran have managed the crisis well.
As an aside, the FDD have completely changed tone recently and are now trying to make out that Iran begging for diplomacy. At the same time, Iranians have been saying that they have 'won' because the US are no longer insistent on the 12 demands - it seems to be all about a nuclear weapons deal now...
I like what I am reading in the local press...
:)
Tip of the iceberg; for example, https://www.samsung.com/iran/
Lol at "The project has been set up completely by domestic firms."
Apart from some of the fire equipment, the Germans who helped with ISO accreditation recently, the Dutch NACO company, the HP computers I've seen going in, etc.!
They've also said in local press that 85-90% of it is domestic production, so I'd take the above quote with a pinch of salt!
Makes sense to trial it with domestic flights first - I believe I suggested that a while back.
Whilst in Japan, Trump asked Abe to facilitate a summit between the US and Iran “soon” (source: Japanese broadcaster FNN, citing a Japan govt official).
Zarif was in Japan last week.

From what I gather, there are messages/mediation happening with Iraq (between Iran and US), Oman (Iran, US and EU), Qatar (Iran and US) and Pakistan (Iran and Saudi).
There have also been mediation offers from Sweden, Japan and others too.
I believe Israel express their viewpoint to Russia.
There's also talk that Trump gave Pompeo and Bolton 3 month 'ultimatums' in Mid May because he wasn't happy with how they were doing on a number of issues. Sounds similar to what he did with Tillerson; i.e. planting rumours in the press to increase the pressure on them.
Lol, Iran announced a quadrupling in their CAPACITY to produce low enriched Uranium – that 'news' page that you've shared is rather suspect.
AP are slightly closer to the truth here: https://www.apnews.com/e46d3bdff2bd48d9a6a87a6752e6be6f
but even then they still don't mention the word 'capacity' in the headline! I'll leave you to guess why that might be... The key word 'capacity' was in the original Iranian statement – why not quote it verbatim? Why do the press feel a need to interpret/spin it to introduce ambiguity?
By the way, LEU cannot be used for weapons and this move was still in compliance with JCPOA. Iran have even said that they're taking these measures because they want to reinvigorate JCPOA – makes sense.
What do you make of all of the shuttling back and forth of diplomats, back-channels being established (Oman, Sweden, Iraq, etc...) and both sides saying they want to avoid war over the past 24 hours? Also, Rouhani saying that he's in favour of diplomacy?
I'm actually pleased that we seem to have reached (and passed?) a 'crisis' point. This just needs a gesture of sincerity from the US and then we're all set for talks, imo. That's what Iran seem to be saying.
Zarif directly to Trump on Monday: “Try respect – it works!” And even some praise: “.@realDonaldTrump rightly deplores "military-industrial complex" pushing U.S. to #ForeverWars”
An exchange of prisoners, an easing of sanctions in return for an Iranian concession, or maybe even just a 'respectful' statement from Trump. Who knows, they may even negotiate some additional clauses behind the scenes and then announce 'JCPOA plus' out of the blue. Just needs a bit more time, imo.
Iran must realise that they could get a better 'new' deal from Trump than they could with a 'proper' President – he basically just wants his name on something. Even under JCPOA, the US had strong sanctions on Iran – Trump has hinted that he would lift these if Iran are willing to engage.
In case there was still any doubt about what's going on around the world right now, here's Netanyahu's son, pretty much spelling it out for us:

To all the liberals who went bananas over this twit: you are crazy! These leaders are true friends of Israel and the Jewish people. Unlike Jeremy Cornyn, Rashida talib, Linda sarsour etc that you adore who are actually antisemites and racist!"
According to Arab news, Iraq are mediating between the US and Iran (Iran accepted a request for this from Pompeo).
Ask Vincent Toscani, who WSG recently recruited. From his LinkedIn profile:
"Station Manager / AVSEC
SwiftAir
October 2004 – Present 14 years 8 months
Mali / MINUSMA; South Sudan / UNMISS; Sudan / UNMIS & UNAMID"
('AVSEC' meaning 'Aviation Security')
Euro Ops (just acquired) and Swiftair have a history of working with the UN out of Juba Airport, South Sudan.
Yeah, that's on my list for that 2012.
Re. Dar Es Salaam: http://www.ajira.go.tz/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Vacancies-Announcement-Tanzania-Airports-Authority-13-Arpril-2019.pdf
Dar Es Salaam was ~2m passengers in 2012, so probably too big for the first East African MoU (which was 400k departing). Potential for the 'second' East African MoU, though, serving 'Several million' in 2015 (when DES traffic was ~2.5m)?

All sorts of posturing still going on but this was interesting: "Amid heightened tensions between the two countries, Tokyo is seeking ways to facilitate talks between Iran and the United States.
“Both sides are seeking dialogue,” a Foreign Ministry source said. “There’s a limit, but there’s also a role Japan can play.”"
I've also seen Iraqi and Jordanian sources saying similar things recently, and old Trumpster was pretty clear here:

Fingers crossed...
