The current SP and spread will be there to accommodate any LIND settlement and it's negative effect.
If we can get ILTL onsite the opposite effect will take place, there's a demand for EDL's coal if they can get it out of the ground and ILTL's presence will see a run of contracts being signed, unfortunately it depends on the whims of Magufuli.

The only thing that will make this rip is the settlement of the two outstanding issues, even Uganda's need for TZ coal for their steel industry won't affect it if we can't get ILTL onsite.

I did expect some form of update this week but more silence.
We need Magufuli to get his finger out with those permits.
The concern is we have had no further income since the pre payment and no sign of production, even a piece of elastic can only stretch so far.
ILTL need to be onsite pretty quick whatever stocks they have been using to fulfil the pre paid contract must be near exhaustion.
The big cloud on the horizon is still the covid virus, too many countries have the new variance and looking at lock downs, I don't know how EDL will cope with a repeat of 2020 so for me it is imperative that ILTL get established onsite, the LIND situation will no doubt be resolved to who's benefit remains to be seen.
Re the SP regardless of the colour it is down from yesterdays close on my screen.

Albon71, If you are referring to the value of the share 10 yrs ago, you are correct, I like other LTH's bought into the CPP expecting it to be producing power on a small scale in 10 yrs. That has been blown out of the water!
My first buys were 1p and under some paid a good deal more, there was a quick drop that I took advantage of. They now have less value than the ink in a full stop.
I have now averaged down over the last 3 yrs (I believe other LTHs have done the same) which puts me in a position to recover any loss when, and I do say when, the right news is released.
Of course coal being dead that wont happen LOL

seanyj1, I don't think any of the LTHs expected this fiasco. The original target (i believe) was to produce power in 2020 Magufuli unfortunately scotched that, something EDL had no control over, so my original holding is less than worthless my option then is to average down (perhaps not the brightest move until now) I am now in a position to at least recover my losses, but I do expect to exceed that when LIND and ILTL are sorted, it has already been stated that the order book is healthy with further contracts waiting to be agreed. There is of course no certainty until those two matters are confirmed to be settled for the benefit of EDLs share holders??

A whole weekend to prepare a response to that RNS, yet no response (as yet) from the market it does beg the question why. So what else do they know?

Hi T72, if if edl pay with higher valued shares due to a rise in the SP due to ILTL activity not the consolidation, then there will be less shares required, if the rise in the SP takes place before the payment then there will be less profit when LIND dump them, pure speculation on my part. I somehow think LIND will be too fly for that to happen but you never know,GL E.

I wonder if we will get another RNS next week on the mobilisation of ILTL onsite, that would be convenient before the AGM and any settlement with LIND.
Less shares issued and less profit for LIND when they dump them. That would be more favourable to EDL share holders. Just a thought

It looks like LIND will be settled with a share issue(just my guess) ILTL will be mobilised, then LIND will flog their shares for a quick profit, it's a pity EDL had to deal with such people, on the bright side we might, as lth's get something for our persistence. GL for all next week.

B70, that is why the SP is at this level.
Until ILTL is active onsite that will continue.
I have no doubt LIND will come to an agreement with EDL.
TANESCO are committed to a substantial increase in power generation by 2025, using wind solar gas bio and an increase in coal powered generation, it would seem that coal is far from dead. My guess, and it is the reason I invested here is that EDL will play a not insignificant role in the electrification of Tanzania, not forgetting the export of energy.
We still need that RNS though.

We still need LIND sorted, ILTL sorted and the bonus RCPP now that would be one hell of a RNS. who knows it might not be impossible.

Well aerial that is an interesting post and it fits in with what was said in a previous RNS that they were looking at supplying small power producers with coal. Rukwa next methinks.
I wonder what the naysayers will have to say about that?
