RE: Any news on the EU Critical Minerals Meeting5 Dec 2025 12:59
Agree with the general sentiment, but as previously posted, I think this is changing (in the EU at least) out of necessity and embarrassment. The UK just isn't a big enough player, and doesn't have enough money to make a major difference on the world stage when acting alone (£25 for its critical minerals strategy...).
All that being said, at the micro rather than macro level, Mkango and Hypromag have benefitted a lot from both UK and EU funding over the past 5 years and wouldn't be where they are without it (Tyesley funded by UK gov and German plant over 50% funded by EU/Germany) . Trump is deploying money left, right and centre, and I'm sure plenty of it will be wasted, so if I was an American taxpayer, rather than an investor in a potential beneficiary, I would be a little more concerned even though the ends probably justify the means in this case.
But the great thing about our model and geographic spread is that we can benefit from all three sources of funding, and already are.
