Cheers for posting that Mick. Here's me thinking we wanted to open a green, socially responsible, non-controversial mine.
With regards to the water issue. There isn't one, or we would have been officially informed of such. I'm sure steps will also be taken to ensure that clean water safety remains an absolute priority when Kallak South is developed.
What must also be noted is that such matters are not dealt with at this stage of the permitting process.
Usual cobblers from the Sami, without supporting evidence of any kind, or, as an be seen, any willingness to cooperate in the interests of their fellow Swedes, those especially who need the work.
More jobs, more money spent in and around Jokkmokk, greater prosperity. The Sami don't appear to care about whether anyone else thrives. Only their own. I personally find that pretty disgusting, as they make an amount of their income from others in the world, outside of their own Sami communities.
The land at Kallak, as we know, is only representative of a minute percentage of the total area, such area which belongs to Sweden, for all Swedes to use. Nor is Kallak anywhere near the recognised Laponian boundary. The boundary which then has a sufficient buffer zone to protect anything within it from any form of damage, barring a cheeky nuclear strike.
The Sami folks are trying their best, but there are no specific examples for them to use as evidence against our project progressing. Selfish hot air, and, frankly, I'm fed up to the back teeth with it.
The Government must take responsibility for putting this matter to bed. Something which it has so far failed to do. But it's festering now.
Let's see what happens.
