Aug, I enjoyed that post of yours as well. Blinding son. Lol.
Yes, one point here, apologies if it's a long one, is that Kurt has had to bother promoting the benefits of a mine, in order to build the bridges almost shattered by Clive and his clumsiness, and of course to entice investors for our business. The application process, however, should mean just that to the Government. In its pure form, it's a simple process, that should not require any negotiating between the Government and anyone. I'm talking only of the granting or otherwise of a licence. The rules are there, criteria set, it shouldn't be anything to then do with political jockeying, and, as we've witnessed, exhaustive levels of huffing and puffing, back and forth, to find a compromise before a decision is made. You mentioned negotiations possibly between the Government and the Sami, but In actuality, the Sami, while these peoples are a most important consideration going forward for Kurt, they are not officially involved in the licence process. They've had a rather good say here so far, but the Government should not be negotiating with anyone, including them. It should instead be fulfilling its obligation to provide a service to those businesses that have submitted applications for concession permits.
I'd much rather our application be bulletproof, which it is, and have been accepted or rejected a few years sooner, then we or the objectors could have appealed etc. Following a timely process. At least we'd either be mining or officially not by now.
So, it has been vital for Kurt to promote BEM and negotiate, alongside the application process, to bring in investors and display our future plans for the communities, but it should not have been at all necessary, and shouldn't be a requirement now, for the Government to negotiate with any party, at this stage. Only once the licence is given, should negotiations begin, and if the Government requires the project to be run by LKAB, then we may actually be included for once in any negotiations. Lol.
Six and a half years almost Aug, with still no clear end in sight to this madness. Politics has prevailed at a massive cost each year to our shareholders and BEM. The Government has continued to itself be absolutely guilty of ignoring any due process with regard to our application, because it is apparently too busy negotiating, when it bloody well shouldn't be.
How about this then instead. Someone please prompt Mr Baylan to check out the MI's recommendation and all "final" submissions made early last year on our case, then encourage him further to make a decision. It's plain and simple.
Perhaps, maybe, and all in my opinion Aug.
Good afternoon to you.
As ever, best regards.
