Morning...on yet another day of escalating trade war rhetoric by numpty trumpty, we'll just have to see how the stock markets play out. I suspect there'd be a good 3% sell-off in the US markets, but then the markets may read this as more bluster and come back after a bad opening (in the US). Anyways..tanker watch time - there's also Karen Knutsen anchored off Lerwick as a possibility. Amundsen Spirit will be in Aberdeen this afternoon and could that be an option too? Along with Heather and Jasmine Knutsen anchored close to Rotterdam. We'll know soon. Best

Good to have you on here though with your fab observation skills..;-) On a good note, POO ramping higher today, and trying it's best to recover all of Friday's losses. Goldman 'Commodity' Sachs thinks the POO is going a lot higher, backed by higher demand. I believe in that story; it's only being held back by trade uncertainties. All my US shale backed shares are up solid today; maybe it's for ENQ (and PMO) to do the same tomorrow.

Evening MO, I realised you were in the O&G industry, but I didn't quite realise that you are in some way linked to ENQ and the Kraken field. Good on you and I'm glad that we get good industry inputs from someone like you. Are you at liberty to say in what capacity (Employee/Contractor) you are linked to ENQ? Best

I'll mortgage my house and buy at those levels. LOL...;-) New leaks are suggesting an OPEC 600K increase only and POO has bounced from the lows, taking enq and pmo along with it.

I'm not as 'blindly' optimistic as the two of you on what OPEC would do. My take is that the leaks/opinions from Saudi/Russia will come true and there'll be a 1 to 1.5 million barrel rollback of cuts. It's not just OPEC that's pushing POO down though; the bigger worry is the prospect of trade wars between China and the US, and the potential for oil demand destruction it could create if there's a slowdown in the global economy. It's this global growth and the resulting increase in demand that has pushed POO up, not just the OPEC cutbacks. China is proposing to add US crude to the tariff list in the second pass of $16 billion goods and this has pushed WTI down a buck after the WTI market close Friday and has had some knock-on impact on Brent. My take is that the OPEC rollbacks is a medium term positive (if you have a horizon of more than a few days that is), as this would mean there is not much spare capacity should demand take off. And hence, the importance of the China/Trump trade wars not getting out of hand.

Evening to you, MO. I for one, will certainly be hoping/praying that your call of 8 to 10K BOPD at Alma/Galia, does come to fruition. And thanks for the heads-up about the multiple FS Cygnus visits in the past week. Enquest may well be wanting another load or two out of AK, before they sign off on the commissioning - only a guess though, given load #16 was a 17 day wait and load 17 was more like 13 days. If load 18 is around the 11/12 day figure that you 'expect; then we may well be very close to final commissioning. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Brent doesn't sink below 70 next week!!!

Cheers, MO. That's good info. Here's hoping that the current workover does manage to get production back up to at least the previously achieved 5K BOPD level - that'll be a nice plus for ENQ.

Morning chaps - I'm not as optimistic as you regarding the extent of cuts rollback. My take is that we'll see at or over a million barrels rollback next Friday. I'll be happy if Oil can stay between $70 - 80, at least till the end of the year. That will bode well for ENQ's FCF generation.

China's threatened to impose tariffs on US Crude oil imports, to be included in round 2 of the $16 billion tariffed goods, to be imposed after the first round for $34 billion on the 6th of July. This was why WTI was down an additional 1 percent after the US stock markets closed this afternoon. We will almost certainly see another leg down on Monday. Talk about self-inflicted pain!!!

I seriously doubt it - this will be lower today. It may bounce on Monday once the dust settles, however I don't see a meaningful bounce today.

What's the silver lining - relative SP out-performance to our peers' today. Would it last - God knows and POO needs to settle down soon. It's shaping up to be brutal day today and may fall more before end of trading day today. Obviously, the market is fretting about the demand picture for oil, with all the trade wars that are bubbling along, potentially impacting economic growth worldwide.

Add in the fact that Numpty Trumpty will highly likely be bringing on tariffs on China and the reciprocal tariffs that will be implemented by them, leading to a wider tariff war through more tariffs, has got Dow futures and oil lower today. It's hard to predict how POO will end up at the end of the day, but we could see a bigger downswing once the US markets come online...
