This will be a surprise but only to those who blindly follow whatever bombastic nonsense BoJo and Handjob decide to spout. It is clear that the vaccines, especially the cherished Oxford one, will not cope with the already existing variants and likely even less with any new ones.

The government's scientific advisors are in an impossible position: they have to peddle the "take your vaccine when invited to do so" line even though they are perfectly aware that the vaccines do not offer great protection from the newer (but already dominant) strains. They have to do it because telling people the truth would result in a minimal vaccine uptake, which would be even worse. If, on the other hand, people get vaccinated and so the government hits the % target, they'll be able to blame it on the new strains.

I agree: they have already started hole #4. I reckon they'll announce it once they've intercepted some mineralisation at 150m-250m. Given the usual drilling speed, it should happen on drilling day 3-4, i.e. Monday or Tuesday, so an RNS should be with us on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The number of new cases and hospitalisations is falling here in the UK but it is rising in continental Europe, especially in France. Poland is considering another lockdown, just two weeks after relaxing the previous one, as the number of new infections is shooting up.

The same will happen in the UK: as soon as kids go back to school, we'll see an increase in new cases and hospitalisations, and then we'll be back in a lockdown; my suspicion is that Boris will hold off until after Easter (making another U-turn before would look too bad) and blame it on a new virus strain. In the meantime, France, Poland and other countries will recover somewhat and reopen, and then their cases will start going up again.

And so on, until the warmer summer weather reduces the numbers for a while.

If you think the right against Covid is almost over, think again.

The good news is that SNG001 will be approved by the end of April (based on one or more EUAs) and so fewer people will die because of the virus.

My interpretation of the pussycat's meows was that Polar were going to start increasing their stake today and continue tomorrow, in preparation for a juicy RNS on Monday, so I was expecting a sharp rise around 4.10pm today.

However, something already moved yesterday; I don't think this was Polar because the move wasn't sustained. I'm sticking with the initial interpretation then. Switching off till 4.30pm; let's see how good that pussy really is... (I'm leaving this last sentence equivocal on purpose, a bit in Woodstock's style.)

According to the cat, a £45 per share final offer looks nailed now but she won't give any dates. She simply meows "I follow data, not dates". And don't forget the angle this hole is being drilled at: to achieve the same depth as a vertical hole, the path is somewhat longer (around 1.15x longer).

I wasn't aware "mes braves" was used in English, at least not in my corner of the country. It is an old French expression, and nowadays French speakers are likely to be offended when called "brave" because the meaning is "simpleton" or "pleb" rather than "courageous". :-)

I know you meant it as a joke but "mon brave" and "mes braves" are very condescending expressions. They aren't used in French these days, and I can only see Jacob Rees-Mogg still using an English equivalent when talking to his valet. :-)

It would be amazing to have another opportunity to buy at 160p. This reminds me of last November/December when the SP dropped below 80p and we had plenty of doomsayers.

If 160p is touched again, I'll be buying more.
